"In the past few days, I no longer felt thirsty for blood. Instead, I felt hungry and cooked for myself in the seclusion area. I was able to eat it, and some of the other deformed vampires noticed my human smell starting to emerge, and made them want to attack me."
"Oh, no. Did someone attack you?" Aileen's brows furrowed, worried about her friend's risky situation even though it was all over.
"No. Before that happened, I shut myself in the cabin. Each deformed vampire had their own cabin to rest in so no one would fight or hurt each other."
"Then what happens?"
"Then..." Sepha continued her narrative about her experience while remembering what happened to her last night.
At that time, Sepha was already sleeping in her cabin—awakened when she heard screams. Curious about what was happening, she sneaked a peek from the small gap in the wood-covered window. She sealed all windows, and doors with wood and smeared them with olive oil to prevent the other deformed vampires from smelling her human scent.
Alas, she couldn't see clearly and thus reopened some of the wood with great difficulty. Once the bottom wooden beams had been removed, Sepha saw several deformed vampires lying lifeless on the ground.
In an instant, immense fear spread from her heart to her brain. Sepha didn't know what she should do other than hide in her cabin. The problem was that the individuals who intended to exterminate these deformed vampires were not willing to let anyone hide.
Her small cabin was now filled with small holes—tiny bullets that glowed like stars shot through her cabin, about to kill her. Sepha thought she would die right then and there—holding her breath and closing her eyes in resignation, waiting for the grim reaper to pick her up.
However, Sepha did not feel pain or anything that made her heart stop beating. She ventured to open her eyelids and was shocked to realize that the same bullets were gathering—floating around her.
The number of these star shells increased, and the light became more and more blinding, forcing Sepha to cover her eyes again. The next moment, she felt a strong gust of wind as if she was standing in the middle of a vast field.
"Now it's your turn." Someone's voice made Sepha's forehead frown in disbelief. The young girl opened her eyes again and found that she was no longer in the cabin—she was standing on a hill with two incredibly handsome men.
She knew both of them―the Alpha King and one of his right-hand men, Ares. However, she didn't remember that the Alpha could create stars out of nowhere, and she wondered why the Alpha's hair was now black and his eyes had turned hazel. She recalled the Alpha King had beautiful cobalt blue eyes like a deep ocean.
Ares raised one hand to the place where the deformed vampires were exiled, creating a huge ball of fire above the area. The scalding temperature was so intense that Sepha felt her whole body sweating as if she were in a sauna—but this one was many times more superheated.
As soon as Ares dropped his raised hand, the giant fireball fell too—burning and scorching everything there until nothing remained.
Seeing an unexpected scene—an unfortunate incident that happened to all the deformed vampires made Sepha shudder in horror. That tragedy could have happened to her—she, too, would have died along with those deformed vampires. Why is she still alive? Why did this black-haired Alpha save him?
"Who is this girl? Doesn't she also live there? Why did you show favoritism and save her?" Thousands of questions came out of Ares' mouth.
"She is human." The black-haired man still wore a cold expression, in contrast to the burning hot temperature of Ares' power.
"Ah? What is a human girl doing in this exiled area? Hey, you ... what's your name?"
"Greetings, Lord Ares. My name is Sephania."
"What do you do there?"
"The fact is … a pureblood vampire bit me, and my transformation failed. Until a few days ago, I was still a deformed vampire."
The two men looked at each other in amazement at this answer. "A deformed vampire returning to human form? How could it be? It doesn't make sense." Ares probed Sepha with his gaze from top to toe. The man couldn't believe what he had just heard from the girl's mouth.
The black-haired man shook his head to answer Ares' question. "It shouldn't be possible. How did you do it? Tell us in detail."
Then, Sepha told what she had done for almost three months to turn back into a human. Hearing that the only way to return to being human was not to drink any blood, Ares decided to report to Lyod.
This case was rare, but if there were people out there who had strong willpower like Sepha, wouldn't it be a shame to kill innocent people?
"So, that's how it happened." Sephania ended her narration by eating biscuits served by her mother. "Why are you silent?"
Aileen took a deep breath, glanced at Guin, who was sitting next to her, and lightly patted the back of Guin's hand. "Guin, we have misunderstood them. What's more, you challenged..." Aileen felt uneasy and didn't dare imagine what punishment Guin would experience after opposing the Alpha king and the Alpha of the Moon pack.
"You're right. I'll apologize later." Guin didn't want to create enemies—especially enemies like the Alpha King. Even though she wasn't willing to come to the Werewolf Realm a second time, Guin had to go there to apologize... before the Alpha King paid a visit to the Woods' residence.
