After Guin took Aileen back home, the girl left for the Mediterranean city—the center of the Unbound Havens, where the portal connecting the mortal and the Werewolf realm was located.
The journey from her house to the Mediterranean city was quite far, taking almost a day's journey if she goes by car—and half a day if she takes the express train. However, Guin didn't want to postpone her intention before her courage shrank. Because of that, she hired a teleportation service, which cost her all her pocket money so she could arrive in the Mediterranean city in a matter of seconds.
The place that deals with teleportation services is near the Oracle library—where Guin works. The place was just an unadorned shop. It sold magic tools that were only useful for low-class magicians. Not only that, but this shop also deals with teleportation services because the owner was a magician with a spiritual attribute—the only magician who could create the highest level spell array—teleport array.
Just like her father, wizards with spiritual powers were extremely rare and most sought-after. No wonder this wizard sells his abilities at high prices.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Halstat," Guin greeted the shopkeeper in a friendly manner.
"Good afternoon, Miss Guinevere. Are there any magical aids you would like?"
"Nothing. But I need your services." Guin gave Halstat several gold coins. "Is this enough?"
Halstat took one of the gold coins with an interesting look. Unlike the gold coins the humans own, this coin has the head of a howling fox.
"This coin comes from the Beast World. How do you have it?"
"Someone gave it to me," Guin lied without blinking. She couldn't possibly say it came from the Sky Fox clan. "So?"
"This is quite enough. Where are you going?"
"Mediterranean."
"Okay." Halstat walked out from the counter and created a spell array by moving his index finger.
Mr. Halstat was indeed one of the best wizards living in the Unbound Havens since he finished a high magic spell in ten seconds. "If you want to return, detonate this magic tube." Mr. Halstat gave Guinevere a wooden cylinder. "This will create a teleport array that will take you back to this city."
Guin blinked a few times, not understanding why she had gotten an additional teleport array. "I've heard of magic tubes, but aren't these expensive? I don't have the money left to afford a second teleport service."
"My teleport service is worth four gold coins, and this magic tube is worth six. You've given me eight gold coins, and for the past two years, you've been the only one to accompany this old man when the shop is quiet. There's no harm in giving special discounts to lifetime friends."
Guin smiled happily, hearing that. "Then, I won't hesitate to accept it." She stored the magic tube in her astral dimension. Then she walked towards the teleport array and let Halstat expand it until it covered her entire body.
The magic particles enveloped Guin, forcing her to close her eyes to enjoy the comfortable flow of magic energy. It had moved her location as soon as Guin opened her eyes.
The Mediterranean City was more crowded than the southern district—there were magic cars and ten gold coins worth of teleportation service tubes everywhere Guin looked.
'It seems that finding the portal to the Werewolf Realm is not as easy as I thought.' Guin began to feel regretful about leaving that day. She should have waited for tomorrow so she had more time to find the location of the connecting portal between worlds.
Now Guin understood why Halstat gave her a one-way teleport magic tube. The old man knew all magic teleportation tubes would not work after sunset. Meanwhile, she had less than two hours before sunset—she wouldn't be able to go home if she stayed here overnight.
Well, Guin didn't need to worry about that. When the sun sets, she might already be in the Werewolf Realm. And as a princess of the sky fox clan, she could sleep anywhere—even in the forest.
On the contrary, Guin wouldn't be able to find any forest in a modern city filled with sophisticated magic tools in this city. Neither did she have the money to stay at a guest house.
'I must find the connecting portal between worlds before the sun sets.'
After asking several people and looking at the tourism map, Guin finally found the portal connecting realms. The sun still hadn't set, but one vital problem prevented her from using the portal.
"If you don't have the access token, you are not allowed to enter."
Guin never knew she needed this access token. As far as she remembered, she and Aileen didn't need this token yesterday... Ah... they both had dance party invitation tokens. It seems... that yesterday's token was not the access token in question, right?
"Is there no exception? It's an urgent matter, and I have to speak to Alpha." Guin hoped the guard could grant her an exception. She even uses a charm spell to bewitch the guard's heart. Unfortunately, the guard was a werewolf with a strong heart—this guy was immune to her charms.
Guin could have raised the power level of her charm spell, but that would have exposed her identity and attracted unwanted attention. Having no other choice, Guin was forced to quit.
"Well, hello. Aren't you the girl from yesterday?" A familiar voice caught Guin's attention.
Guin raised her head and smiled kindly when she saw a red-haired man with powerful fire magic approaching her.
"Why are you here?" Ares asked with great interest.
"I want to go to the Werewolf Realm to look for Alpha Lionel."
"Lionel? Not Jerome?"
"Jerome? Who is he?" Guin didn't understand why this red-haired man mentioned another man's name even though he was looking for Lionel.
Guin felt she had heard the name Jerome, but she couldn't remember when and where she heard this name.
"Ho? You don't even know his name. Anyway, my name is Ares. You?"
"Guinevere. Could you take me to the Werewolf Realm?" Guin was thinking of various reasons to make Ares grant her request. Unexpectedly, Ares immediately agreed without asking.
"Of course! Come with me."
Easy as that? Guin thought Ares would interrogate her, considering how tightly guarded the Werewolf Realm was. Is Ares not worried that Guin has evil intentions towards the Alpha?
Well, maybe Ares didn't consider Guin a threat because he thought the girl he was accompanying was just a fragile human girl. Even though Guin used all her strength as a Sky Fox, she was no match for Ares or the Alpha King.
As soon as they passed through the portal gate, they were greeted with a wolf howl, which made Guin immediately regret her decision. She must have been crazy if she decided to come to this world alone.
"I'll take you to Whitebridge pack." Ares invited Guin to get into a large wagon with two horses pulling the vehicle.
"Are there no cars or trains here?" Guin had never ridden in a horse-drawn wagon. This is a new experience for her, but she prefers to take a car or tram like the one at Unbound Havens. Besides, didn't the Alpha provide a car yesterday to pick up the guests from the portal gate?
"Miss, did you come here to play around? You should be thankful that there is still a wagon here. Why do you think the Beast clan needs a car when they can shapeshift?"
"But, yesterday …"
"Of course it's different. The werewolf clan rents cars from Unbound Havens for human guests. Now that the event is over, those air-polluted engines are no longer needed.
"…"
