The inequity of life is visualized when in one part of the same kingdom, a person is being praised and taken care of with kid gloves while on the other part, another is being shamed, insulted and treated as an outcast.
Such is life.
Well, enough with the monologue.
In Xolten, the dukedom had completely forgotten that there were two sisters, ignored and criticized badly, Regina hid herself in her room and refused to come out.
Albert did all he could but it was to no avail as she continued sulking. As a father, he could not watch her die of starvation thus he tried every possible means to get her to come out. Days turned into nights and weeks.
Inside the pitch-black room, a silhouette of a female could be seen, she curled herself into a ball and hid in a corner of the room. Her eyes had become puffy and red from crying day in and day out.
The greatest thing she feared in her life was getting shamed and criticised by the public. She wanted to portray a perfect lady to the public and for a good twenty-eight years, she managed to do it.
People were starting to believe her, believing that she could do something. She always felt bad that she had to look like this. It was always at the back of her mind that she was not beautiful and the definition of beauty would be her younger sister, Carrissa.
Putting aside her brain which had been infected with inferior complexity, Regina was a a lovely lady. Her green eyes shone like green gems and she had ample bosoms and a backside which could draw men in. Unlike her sister, she had tanned skin which complimented her green eyes and black hair.
All this while, she had not repented and was still sulking and blaming her younger sister for her faults.
She had stripped her of her delicately sewn lamb dress for people to see her disgusting and appalling nature which made people's skin crawl in hate.
Why couldn't she just endure it?! Why did she have to do that?! Wasn't she satisfied with being named the Beauty Queen of the Heavinille household, that different men lined up at their door just to catch a glimpse of her while she wallowed in self-hatred and misery?
Fate had never been fair to her if a little change, just a tiny mistake had happened then she would have been born to Albert and Victoria Heavenille.
Yes! She wasn't their biological daughter but the daughter of Albert's brother, Nana.
Her parents died on the sea, leaving her alone in this dog-eat-dog world. Albert and his wife were expecting a baby by then so they took her in and told everyone she was their lost firstborn. Surprisingly everyone believed them.
After the birth of Carrissa, with everyone praising the latter's once-in-a-century beauty, she developed a mental issue which in the present day we would call body dysmorphia. She criticized her looks and went to extremes by trying to disfigure Carrissa for her satisfaction. Even though it was successful, it scabbed over and faded away within a month. She thought nothing of it as she was a child back then but thinking about it now, it was quite bizarre.
She started learning to take over the kingdom so that she could have something to praise herself for but no one praised her. It was like, she was doing something that she was supposed to do naturally.
Just as her thoughts were running helter-skelter in her brain, she failed to see a shapeless shadow crawl towards her. With her knees up and her face in between her legs, she failed to see it move towards her.
Are you sure it's only love that makes one blind? Well, we will find the answer later.
The shadow soon engulfed her in seconds and soon muffling and struggling sounds resounded in the chamber. The struggle soon came to an abrupt end and Regina jerked her head up, her eyes looking pitch white and her facial features waning to become one of a man.
"Oh, it's so nice to be in a new body." a masculine voice boomed in the quiet room. "And it seems we are unique in some parts."
He metamorphosed back to Regina but with new effects. She looked more beautiful, her hair had grown five inches longer, reaching the curve at her rear. Her face became more defined and her skin, deathly pale.
"Hello, my subjects."
