Going back to that thing on how everything is made of mana, and how mana is life itself, I came to realise something else.
Healing magic, one thought to be only usable by priests, nuns, and the holy people of the Church faction, is actually using the principle of mana transfer to heal someone using the bountiful mana of the earth. In simple terms, they use mana to heal the injuries, on a body or object made from mana.
Also, magic is all about interpretation. Incantations are used to help visualise a spell, but they are not needed in the slightest bit.
Now, I want to test my theory on healing magic.
I drew my blade and carefully cut my left index finger, not too deep, and applied my theory on how healing magic works. Imagine healing my wound with mana…
"Hah, fuckin' knew it."
I was correct on my hypothesis, my finger was back to normal. Does that mean the more mana I use, the better the healing will be?
My left arm still hasn't fully recovered from that night, so I have to test this.
"{Heal}."
After I put more mana into the healing spell, my arm was able to move like nothing had happened at all to it. I can't do anything about that big ass scar, though.
I'll now try healing the scars on my right forearm…
"{Heal}."
…
Nothing. I guess scars are permanent. But…
"The Church is a bunch of bullshit, even though they do worship real Gods."
The bad thing is, the Church usually has a fee for healing, different healing levels require more and more money. I could exploit that for my own self gain, but I won't. I'll offer healing services for the people that need them, only accepting donations if they feel like they would want to donate.
It's a good way to build my reputation, after all. The only thing about that is that the church, in this country, only does this. So, other countries have healers as adventurers, but this country has them outlawed.
<
Great, that shows that my efforts are correct, and have not been tried before, at least in this continent. Could you tell me more about the titles, Kitsu?
<
Thank you for the explanation.
Now, let's see if I can do anything about my left eye, shall we?
"{Heal}."
…
Nothing. Kitsu, mind explaining?
<
Okay, I think I have an idea. First, let's coat my eye in mana to preserve it for this procedure. Second, I'll remove my eye, most of it is gone, anyway.
I put my fingers up to my eye and readied myself.
*riiiiiippp*
"God, that fucking hurts!"
My eye socket was bleeding profusely, and I began to falter.
"{Heal}."
I healed my eye socket so the bleeding would stop. I'll now use mana, and [Analyse] to carefully examine the structure of my eye. Alright, next step.
…
Now, time to recreate my eye using mana, using my actual eye as the base of it. Kitsu, use your full ability to assist this process.
<
My eye disappeared like a video game item despawning, but it turned a light blue before so. Time to wait…
--
<
The eye made out of mana, what does it look like? Kitsu, am I able to project an image of me using the one of the system's mechanics?
<
Great.
--
So, that's what it looks like? It looks like a hologram, but the bloody inside of my head is covered by a thick layer of mana, so the injuries won't reopen as easily. The iris is a holographic grey, whilst the eye is normal white.
I adjusted the appearance of my mana eye to make it as realistic as possible. Yes, that means it mimics my destroyed eye perfectly, with damage dealt in that general area. Nobody will suspect anything now. And, I can still see normally when using it!

I kept walking, and finally found where they kept all of the things they had. Some money, a couple of weapons, and some torn clothing.
Seems like some people had an unlucky encounter with these goblins.
They were weak, may they rest in peace, and may they find peace within their souls.
--
I made my way back out of the cave, and back onto the path I took here. It's about time I go and finish this quest.
--
I've gotten back on the path I took through the forest, weaving past trees and bushes alike. I passed by some animals, they didn't run from me when I got closer. I don't know why, though…
-[The Guild]-
I made it back inside the guild, holding the bag of ears, drenched in blood.
The receptionist looked at me, and then my arm, and then at the bag. I handed it to her and she took it in the back for inspection. I gathered 21 ears, so my gain was 63 copper pieces, which isn't a bad haul, not bad at all.
Time to head back home, I'm tired.
-[The Orphanage; Main Room]-
"Ah, you're back!"
Mister Rommel had seen me enter the door to the main room, and he went up to me.
He got down to my level and asked me, "Are you alright, Pearl? You're covered in blood…"
I had put away my katana, in my inventory, before I entered. I then showed him the quest form that I had taken, and that it was signed "complete".
He then looked at me, and reached his hands out towards me.
I, instinctively, leapt back out of fear. The mere thought or gesture of an adult male touching me, or getting near me, sickens me to my stomach.
Mister Rommel noticed this, and backed off. He then said, "I'm sorry. Please, clean yourself and then rest up. You look tired."
I nodded my head, and headed to my room.

Today, I've learned many things about this world, and I've gained more power. Before I rest, I want to mess around a bit.
So, if I were to visualise water being made with my mana…
*blub*
Yep, it works. I now have a ball of water, levitating above my hand. Now, I'm gonna clean off this blood.
-[15 Minutes Later]-
I'm now cleaned and have changed into nightwear. My clothing and robe are currently hanging on a wire outside of my window, drying out in the wind. So, I've now discovered a way to make magic useful. I also want to test one final thing.
Now that I can see mana, the flow of it, I've noticed that it's leaking out of me every time I use magic, which is why I used all of it accidentally when helping that dog-eared woman earlier. So, I want to try and limit the leak to a minimum.
I think that all I have to do is try to visualise me sucking it all in; into my body.
Let's try it…
<
Great. Now, I'm tired. I'll be taking more subjugation and investigation quests if I can, so I'll need to get some rest right now.
