I started walking towards the tree-line and stayed cautious of my surroundings. After all, I don't want to be surprise attacked, much like that unfortunate goblin I encountered.
As the trees cleared, I walked out into an open plain, next to a beautiful lake, whose water shone in the sun-light.
"Beautiful…" I couldn't help but express what I felt. I walked towards the clear water and peered out into it. A saw a couple of fish near the shore-line, they were on the smaller side.
I looked into the water and stared at myself.
I fell back surprised by what I had seen. I was younger, yes. But, I noticed something that I didn't seem to notice before. I had ears of a fox. Does that mean what I think it does?
I felt something brush against my leg. Yep. It was a big, fluffy, jet black coloured tail. It seems I have become a fox type lycanthrope. How the fuck did I miss something as big as that? I guess I was captivated by this fantasy type world, so I purely didn't notice it…
Now, the most pressing matter.
I looked female. I hope to God that I'm still male. I never got to put my "soldier" to use!
I felt around "there" and my fear came true. It was gone… Gone without a trace. And, not to mention, that area is extremely sensitive. Fucking Christ…
"God dammit, Kai!" I yelled out in semi-flustered frustration. I sat down and just thought about things for a moment.
But then a thought came across me that changed the way I felt about it.
'Well, now you can experience things that only women could!'
And I don't mean it in a perverted way… for now.
Once my body is matured, I'll try a few things… Or, at least I hope I can wait that long. I was a guy, after all. I still have my "guy-ish" tendencies. It's not weird… To me, at least.
But, back to what I was saying earlier, this lake is beautiful. It's surrounded by trees and brush, with fishes and more inside of its depths. If this were nearby in my old world, I would definitely go camping out here. I would probably fish here, too!
I like fishing. It's fun, and calming.
…
The sun is blinding me. I'll just pull up the hood and relax. After all, this is a perfect spot for a quick nap. I'll have to come back here sometime. But, for now, I'll just take it all in.
-[40 Minutes Later]-
If you're wondering what I have been doing, I have mainly just been getting used to Kitsu's System Features. I stored my katana just because it provided extra weight when travelling. So, it will get annoying to carry around.
I heard rustling grass behind me. These ears of mine can hear things quite distinctly. I pretended to hear nothing hoping to catch whoever, or whatever, it may be.
"Γεια σου;. (Uh, hello?)"
I heard a man's voice. Sounding around 30, to 40, years of age. I looked behind me to see an older man, readied with fishing equipment and a horse-pulled cart. It looks like he's a traveller.
He then set down his equipment and looked at me. He then asked, "Γεια σου νεαρέ. Μπορείς να ξέρεις πού είναι οι γονείς σου; (Hello, young one. Might you know where your parents are?)"
… The fuck did he just say? I can't understand what he said.
Oh. Right. I do look young now. He must be asking where my parents are…
I just stared at him, ready to attack him if he tried anything funny.
He then asked, "Ήρθες εδώ με κανέναν άλλο; Ή, είσαι μόνος σου; (Did you come here with anyone else? Or, are you by yourself?)"
I just quietly stared at him.
He then picked up his equipment and said, "Λοιπόν, παιδί μου, μπορείς να κάνεις μια βόλτα μαζί μου πίσω στην πόλη, αν θέλεις. Ίσως βρούμε τους γονείς σου εκεί. (Well, kid, you can hitch a ride with me back to town if you want to. Maybe we'll find your parents there)."
As much as I find him suspicious, I have basically no other choice. After all, I'm in an unfamiliar land, I can't understand what the fuck he is saying, and I basically have no protection out here.
I then said, "Much… appreciated." Using English, of course. Well, that's what I tried to use. I spoke in some language that I had never heard before, but I strangely understood it.
{She spoke using the Beast language.}
He looked at me and had a confused look on his face. So, I hit him with a "thumbs-up" as my response. He started walking back to his cart and motioned for me to follow along. I don't want to draw my sword, that way he won't suspect me.
He pointed at the back of the cart and motioned for me to get in through there. And so, I did.
He got on the front of it and we started to move… west? It seems that we are going west.
<
Just what language was I speaking, though?
<
Oh? Okay. That sounds like what happens in those certain types of isekai novels where the main character is reincarnated as a demi-human, and they now understand that language. I've read many like it before.
The old man then asked, "Λοιπόν, από πού είσαι μικρέ; Δεν φαίνεται να μένεις εδώ κοντά, λόγω του γεγονότος ότι φοράς ρόμπα μάγων. (So, where are you from, little one? You don't seem to live out near here, due to the fact you are wearing a mage's robe.)"
I only got "where", "live out here", and "mages' robe" from that. This language skill is truly weird. But, it seems that he is most likely asking me where I am from. And seeing how he pointed out my robe, he might be wondering if I am a mage.
He then looked back at the road and said, "Δεν μιλάει πολύ, ε; (Not much of a talker, eh?)"
He must have said something about my silence. Let's try talking in the common language…
I tried to speak. What came out was, "Εγώ… δεν ξέρω… που. (Me… not know… where.)"
He looked slightly surprised that I spoke. He then said to himself, "Βλέπω. (I see…)"
I then followed it up with, "Δεν μπορώ να θυμηθώ… ποιος… ποιος είμαι. (Me can't remember… who… who I is.)"
It seems I can't speak much and my grammar is absolutely fucking horrible. But, I'll level this skill up so that I can speak regularly using it. By the way, Kitsu. How well can I speak the beast language?
<
Okay. That figures. Welp, shit. The only language I fully knew was English, and I can't even remember how to use it anymore.
I stared out into the fields and it was truly a beautiful sight to behold. The light breeze was making the taller blades of grass flow to coincide with it.
