After Axel left the room, she got out of bed and began to get ready for work. She walked into her closet, filled with rows of impeccable business attire, and selected a sleek black pantsuit.
She changed quickly, her movements efficient and practiced. She paired the outfit with a crisp white blouse and a pair of low heels.
As she finished getting dressed, she walked back into the bedroom to find her husband waiting for her to go downstairs and have breakfast together.
They made their way downstairs to the elegant dining room, where their butler, Ormond was already waiting with a warm smile. "Good morning, sir, madam," he said, as he poured them each a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
The table was set with a delicious spread of breakfast items, including scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and freshly baked pastries. Axel took a seat at the table.
"Thank you, Ormond," Tamara said, as she took her seat across from him.
Jenkins chuckled and bowed his head slightly. "It's my pleasure, ma. I'll leave you two to enjoy your breakfast."
As they ate, the silence between them was comfortable, each lost in their own thoughts. She knew she needed to tell him about the previous night's events, but for now, she just enjoyed the peacefulness of the morning, savoring the taste of her coffee.
Axel wanted to ask her about last night but he stopped himself saying she will tell him by herself when she's ready.
After breakfast, he gestured towards the door, his expression polite but distant. "I'll drop you off at the office."
She nodded, her eyes empty of warmth, and gathered her belongings.
As they walked to the car, he opened the door for her. She slid in and he closed the door behind her with a soft click.
The drive was a silent one, the only sound the hum of the engine and the occasional beep of a horn. They didn't bother with small talk, their conversations long ago reduced to mere formalities.
When they arrived at her office, he pulled up to the curb and turned off the engine. "I'll see you tonight, I'll pick you up" He said.
She nodded, her eyes fixed on the building ahead. "Okay"
.…..
As he walked into his office, he saw Adrien already waiting for him in the office "Good morning, sir". He greeted
Walking towards his chair, he said "Adrien, I need you to book a table for two at Le Coeur de la Ville tonight. Eight o'clock."
"Very well, sir. Shall I make any special requests?"
He shook his head, his expression unreadable. "No, that's all. Just the reservation."
Adrien nodded, his fingers flying across her keyboard as he made the booking. "Done, sir. You're all set for tonight at eight."
"You can go back to work now"
Later in the evening
He pulled up to the curb outside her office building, the sleek black car gleaming in the evening light. He checked his watch, noting that he was a few minutes early. He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, his eyes fixed on the entrance.
A moment later, she emerged from the building, her pace brisk as she strode towards the car. She opened the door and slid in.
Good evening wife, he said, his voice low and neutral.
She looked up, her cheeks turning red from blushing. She didn't know why but she liked it when he called her wife or wifey. It made her blush hard.
He pulled away from the curb, navigating through the evening traffic with ease. They drove in silence.
She noticed that they were not going home and she wanted to ask him but stopped.
Twenty minutes later, they pulled up outside Le Coeur de la Ville, the restaurant's elegant facade glowing softly in the evening light.
He opened the door for her, and she stepped out, her eyes scanning the exterior of the building.
Inside, the maître d' greeted them with a deferential smile, showing them to their table by the window. They ordered their meals, the silence between them punctuated only by the occasional comment about the menu.
As they waited for their food to arrive, they sat in silence.
