Chapter 72 - Episode 72: Lightning in the Veins, Shadows in the Mind

The ship drifted smoothly above the clouds, a peaceful contrast to the chaos they had just endured. The soft hum of the engines filled the air, broken only by the occasional crackle of energy from Raidon's thunder-infused controls. The air carried a subtle charge, making their hair stand on end every now and then.

Ren sat near one of the small round windows, staring out into the endless sky. His mind replayed Raidon's words over and over.

"Your home isn't on Tellus. It's on Luna."

He clenched his fists. It didn't make sense, yet... something deep inside him knew it was true.

Sakayanagi, meanwhile, had her arms crossed, leaning against the wall. "Alright, let's talk about it."

Shigan raised an eyebrow. "Talk about what?"

Sakayanagi pushed off the wall and gestured to the map Kaelen had spread across the table. "How many stones do we have now?"

Ren finally turned his attention to the discussion.

Kaelen pointed at the map, where five different colored stones were etched into a detailed sketch of Tellus.

"Wind, Light, Nature, Fire, and Darkness."****"That's five."

Shigan cracked his knuckles. "Which means we have two left."

Raidon, still at the helm, nodded. "Thunder and Earth."

A silence settled over the room.

Kaelen's finger hovered over the Earth Stone's supposed location. The issue was—it wasn't marked. Nobody knew where it was.

"The Earth Stone is a mystery," Kaelen admitted. "Out of all of them, it's the most well-guarded. The strongest warriors on Tellus are rumored to be there. But nobody—not even high-ranking officials—know where it is."

Ren exhaled. "Then let's not waste time worrying about that one. We go for the Thunder Stone first."

Raidon smirked. "Good choice. I was about to suggest the same thing."

Shigan leaned back in his chair. "So... where exactly is it?"

Raidon tapped the side of his hat, tilting it slightly. "In the Thunder Skies, obviously. But getting there... well, that's a whole different problem."

Sakayanagi raised an eyebrow. "How different are we talking?"

Raidon leaned forward, placing his elbows on the table. "There's only one way in: by breaking through the Lightning Veil. And trust me when I say, nobody's done it unless they were born in the Skies."

Ren narrowed his eyes. "Then how do we get through?"

Raidon smirked. "That's what we need to figure out."

The conversation settled for a moment. The weight of their journey pressed against them—but for the first time in a while, they had a moment of peace.

Moments on the Ship

Kaelen stood up and stretched. "Alright, enough planning for now. Let's take a break before we burn out."

Sakayanagi sighed. "Not a bad idea."

Shigan smirked. "Fine by me, as long as there's something to do."

Raidon grinned. "Oh, there's plenty to do on this ship."

With a snap of his fingers, a holographic panel opened on the wall, revealing several mini-training simulations.

"You can test out your abilities in a controlled environment, or if you prefer, relax in the observation deck up top."

Ren stood up, cracking his neck. "I need to think. I'll be on the observation deck."

Kaelen followed. "I'll go too. Fresh air sounds good."

Sakayanagi walked towards the training room. "I'm going to refine my flames."

Shigan grinned. "I'll join you. Been a while since we trained properly."

Raidon chuckled. "Do whatever you want. Just don't break the ship."

As the group split up, the ship hummed through the sky, carrying them toward their next destination—the Thunder Skies.
