Chapter 14 Cultivation System, Race vs Species

While Ceid was lost in thought, Wyd continued with her report.

Recultivate..., Ceid murmured in his heart.

If he wants to recultivate again from scratch, that would mean that he can choose a different cultivation path.

"Should I start recultivating from scratch? How long would it take until I regain my former realm?"

What Wyd said was true.

I still retain my experience in cultivation.

Despite losing his cultivation realm, he still knows the knack for each cultivation realm. Inhaling, accumulating, and tempering using Aura Qi had become second nature to Ceid.

"..." Hearing Wyd's last sentences made Ceid speechless. He was sure there's an implied meaning here.

"Wyd, do you have anything against me?"

Sure enough, she even called herself Wyd. He couldn't help but roll his eyes.

But...Wyd does raise a good point.

Resources...that might be a challenge.

This planet lacks the higher-grade materials I'm accustomed to. Thankful, I still brought with me my storage space.

Albeit lacking, his storage space does have sufficient resources for him to cultivate for a while. At the very least, his condition was far superior to that of the indigenous peoples of the Blanc Planet.

But, this was not a long-term solution.

-

In this universe, there are four cultivation paths. Each cultivation path has its unique characteristics and cultivation realms.

But in general, the titles given to each realm practitioner are Junior Practitioner (G1 rank), Senior/Master Practitioner (G2 rank), Venerable (G3 rank), Exalted Venerable (G4 rank), Profound Venerable (G5 rank), Great Venerable (G6 rank), and True King (G7 rank).

The first cultivation path is the Qi Cultivation Path.

It focuses on cultivating Aura Qi to refine True Qi within the body. They refined their True Qi and stored it in the Jing Dantian.

The realms for Qi Cultivation Path are Qi Gathering Realm (G1 rank), Foundation Building Realm (G2 rank), Golden Core Realm (G3 rank), Nascent Soul Realm (G4 rank), Spirit Transformation Realm (G5 rank), Spiritual Void Realm (G6 rank), and Body Fusion Realm (G7 rank).

The second cultivation path is the Spiritual Cultivation Path.

Those who cultivated on this path cultivate their Aura Qi to nurture spiritual/mental strength in their Shen Dantian.

The realms for Spiritual Cultivation Path are Spirit Sense Realm, Spirit Perception Realm, Spirit Core Realm, Life Condensing Realm, Life Transformation Realm, Body of Life Realm, and Elemental Fusion Realm.

The third is the Body Cultivation Path.

Its practitioner cultivated Aura Qi to quench their physical body.

The realms are the Acquired (Houtian) Body Realm, Innate (Xiantian) Body Realm, Shedding Mortality Realm, Divine Sea Realm, Divine Transformation Realm, Divine Elemental Realm, and Divine Fusion Realm.

Finally, the fourth path is the Elemental Cultivation Path.

The practitioner cultivated Aura Qi so that they could control and improve their affinity to Elemental energy. They nurtured their Qi Dantian to accumulate various elemental energies in their organs.

Their realms are the Initiation Affinity Realm, Elementary Realm, Magister Realm, Spirit Master Realm, Spirit Grandmaster Realm, Spirit Venerable Realm, and Spirit Fusion Realm.

-

There's no particularity or differences between these realms and paths other than which dantian they focused on cultivating.

If one wanted, one could practice more than one path.

They only needed to cultivate the respective dantian and improve their rank.

In the eyes of those from higher-level civilizations, there's no particular difference between, for example, a magician and a sword cultivator.

It was just a different path of cultivation and profession.

If one wished to make a distinct difference between the two, it would be akin to how some occupations on Earth were more regarded by society than others.

Of course, these only refer to the cultivation system that was universally accepted by every higher civilization world.

Each world and civilization had varying different trajectories and developments. Thus, the knowledge they inherited or found was different.

Their cultivation system would deviate depending on their world's history, development trajectory, civilization level, and cultivation knowledge node.

The names given for each realm or each cultivation path might differ accordingly.

Even within the Qi Cultivation Path, various worlds gave different names for the Qi Gathering Realm, such as the Qi Refining Realm and Qi Sensing Realm.

The generalized title system was created to avoid this confusion in recognizing cultivation realms.

-

Back to the topic at hand, arguably, depending on the needs of various professions and the practitioner's identity, it is more beneficial to concentrate on a specific path.

For example, assassins, swordsmen, and weapon masters who employed True Qi to control their breath and weapons would focus on the Qi Cultivation Path.

Wizards, sorcerers, and mages would probably be more inclined to cultivate the Elemental Cultivation Path.

-

But for Ceid, his original cultivation level was Spirit Core Realm.

It is the equivalent of the Golden Core Realm in the Qi Cultivation Path. He was considered a Venerable rank powerhouse or G3 Rank.

Although he also developed his other dantians, his primary focus was the Shen Dantian.

This was because he had wanted to become a Beast tamer and breeder.

The romance of having beast partners fighting alongside him motivated him to become a beast tamer.

Saying something like, "Go XYZ, I choose you." seemed tempting for Ceid.

Because of this, Ceid went for the Spiritual Cultivation Path since the beast master requires powerful mental strength to maintain the beast contract.

-

Here, we need to sidetrack again as we try to explain the difference between a Beast and a People. As we know, Ceid was a Beast Tamer. So, it is good to clarify the distinction before we continue.

Animals and plants are creatures that are typically found in the wild.

They were created to serve as the agents of biodiversity that maintained the world's ecosystem. They are food, manure, fertilizers, and so on for those living in the world.

Insects, chickens, cows, goats, and fish are the typical example.

Beasts are those whose ancestrally came from a long line of the People Race.

Despite their ancestry, they are creatures with degenerated species levels. The ancestry bloodline they inherited had diluted and become thin. They lived among the wild animals and typically crawled on four legs.

Cats, tigers, eagles, and whales are the typical example.

The term "degenerate" was used here because the original ancestral line of the beasts originated from the People Race.

On the other hand,...

The People Race or Sentient Race are those who retained their ancestry bloodline and their descendants.

Initially, besides the animals and plants, the Creator also created other creatures. They were created with the most perfect bloodline.

They had a humanoid figure, walking upright with two feet. Though they have various characteristics that distinguish their respective races, such as varying fur, flaming mane, and pointed ears, they are humanoid.

They have intelligence and wisdom. They could communicate and build their civilization. They are a cultured person.

But as their descendants spread across the universe or their world underwent changes, their genes and bloodlines tried to adapt to changes.

To put it in a good word, they 'adapted' to their surroundings.

To put it in a derogatory term, they 'mutated' due to their surrounding.

And during the adaptation process, their original perfect bloodline would become thinner and diluted.

As they continued to propagate, their original bloodline became thinner until it reached a critical point. At that time, they were no longer considered part of the Sentient Race but had degenerated into mere beasts.

Like animals, they survive and live based on instinct and not wisdom.

To put it in perspective, races such as annasi, dwarven, elven, feline, and so on were recognized as part of the People Race or Sentient Race.

This makes the cat woman, elf girl, and phoenix mother that Ceid kept thinking are part of the Sentient Race.

But, although the beasts are considered equivalent to animals, they are not treated as animals.

Since their original ancestry came from the Sentient Race, they could cultivate, albeit instinctively.

As they grew in strength and cultivation, their body would begin to discard the 'filth' that contaminated their gene and bloodlines from their body. They would gradually regain wisdom.

But, since their original gene, bloodline, and wisdom were that of beasts, it would take a lot of effort to regain their ancestral form. Even when they became Junior Practitioners, their wisdom was similar to that of newborn children.

Their wisdom and intelligence would only develop if they continued to improve their cultivation level. Only those who achieved Profound Venerable (G5 rank) had wisdom and intelligence similar to those of an adult Sentient Race.

Only at this point could they remold their bodies into the Sentient Race as part of the transformation process.
