Chapter 1 - Arrival

Chapter 1 Arrival

"Huah..."

A deep sigh was heard from near the corner of the plaza.

In this remote corner, hidden from the crowd, a young-looking teenager was sitting on a bench, downcast.

He had a blonde with slight curly hair, neatly slicked back. He had a set of crystal clear azure hooded eyes, a fair complexion, and a distinct oval face contour.

His name was Ceid F. Hagrol.

"Why?!" he lamented his fate in gritted teeth.

But despite all his frustration, eventually, he could only sigh and accept his fate's arrangement. Even if he were let to file his complaints and win his lawsuits, it would not change the fact that he needs to live here.

It has become an established reality for him.

Thankfully, I entered this world after updating the Wyd.

Wyd, Ceid's personal assistance system, is an AI quantum computer system called WiBodath System, implanted in the user's consciousness.

All the citizens from the so-called higher dimensional world had their consciousness implanted with at least one AI support system. And the WiBodath System was the most popular and widely used AI support system.

It was designed as a personal computing system that assisted each citizen's daily lives.

It equipped them with supercomputing, virtual storage, and various other capabilities. And the most important function was that it enabled them to connect with the network.

And just several minutes ago, it gave Ceid a reality check on his dire situation.

-

We turn back time to half a day prior.

Just outside a crowded and congested plaza area, near the intersection leading to the city's entrance, people from various professions, ages, and genders were seen hurrying along to enter the city.

Though there were traces of slight panic in their eyes as they ran almost out of breath from a long distance, everyone was methodically proceeding along the guarded entrance. The situation was not chaotic, as if they had frequently faced this sort of situation.

It was, in fact, the norm for the people living in this world.

This is because human settlements in this world were often attacked by beast tides now and then.

On the contrary, for the humans of this world, instead of cowering in fear, the beast tides were seen as an opportunity.

For a world once contaminated due to human destruction and pollution, the awakened beasts were seen as a gift to humans in this world. Once every valuable part of the beast's corpse had been processed, the carcasses of beasts could be burned down along with the soil to become an excellent fertilizer for the field.

And this time, news about the beast tide had long been spread among the people.

Early this morning, the local Beast Kinematics Monitoring Department office issued a second level 'Yellow Level' warning. Because of this, all residents who lived outside the city were instructed to evacuate and take cover within the city's defensive wall.

Not far from the busy road outside the city, a bright light suddenly appeared on the ground in a somewhat hidden part of the jungle.

As the light first appeared on the ground, it spread around outwardly. Before long, a luminous hexagon-shaped pattern emerged on the ground. As patterns erupted from the hexagon's corners, the light crossed over with each other to produce a star pattern inside the hexagon shape.

As the complete pattern formed, it began to rotate about its axis, creating a sphere of magic field.

Strange characters began to take shape as the revolving pattern progressively produced a steady magic field. Additionally, several rings of magic circles resembling gears enclosed the entire design, giving it a mysterious appearance.

An oval space gate split in space in the center as the different patterns rotated at a particular rhythm based on predetermined orientations and directions.

And the moment the space channel opened, a young man, bruised and wounded, was flung like a rag out of the space gate.

Then, the space gate closed as quickly as it appeared before the young man could regain his mind. Afterward, the glittering design vanished as though it had never been. If it weren't for the man's unexpected appearance, there would be no trace that a space gate had ever opened there.

...Blech...

When the man regained control of his body, he immediately vomited everything he had eaten previously. The feeling was even worse than riding the most ridiculous roller coaster ride ever.

Yes, the man was Ceid.

It was his first time traveling through such a chaotic and unstable space channel. His condition was awful as his whole body was injured, and his clothes were tattered.

What had just happened?

Did a space turbulence have just decided to intrude into the space channel just now?

Am I so unlucky to encounter such unpredictable natural disasters, which are said to be extremely rare?

He cursed inwardly.

At the time, the situation was quite dangerous.

When he stepped into the transmission gate, he was in high spirits. He imagined that he would appear at his destination as soon as he opened his eyes. The transmission process was supposed to be instantaneous.

However, just as the transmission light engulfed him, a sudden tremor in space shook the space channel. Before he could control his body, he was thrown out from the space channel.

...Blech...

After vomiting everything he could, Ceid felt better at last. But as a result, he felt weak as he had used up all of the energy in his body.

He immediately lay down on the ground to rest.

Ceid's vision was still blurry. He had a terrible headache, and his forehead was throbbing. He made every effort to move his hand but to no avail.

He closed his eyes and tried to relax to reduce the intensity of his headache.

Even though his body hurt and he was tired, he knew he couldn't stay here. He was aware of his surroundings and realized he was in the middle of a forest. Staying here for too long would be unwise.

He had to rest for dozens of minutes before his headache became bearable.

As he regained some of his strength, he sat up from the ground.

From his observation, the trees and plants around were scarce. High above the sky, he could see a bright sun and blue sky. The weather was great for traveling, he thought to himself.

Well?

There were indeed a lot of people traveling. Or rather, are they migrating?

From where Ceid was, there were a lot of continuous chaotic footsteps that could be heard from far away.

If it were an army marching, the footsteps would be orderly and rhythmic rather than haphazard.

However, if these chaotic footsteps were the travelers, it would mean a considerable number of people were walking for this to be audible from such a distance.

Nevertheless, something must be going on for such a situation to occur.

As he regained his strength, he tried to check his injury.

As expected, he could barely feel the Aura Qi inside his body. His mental consciousness was injured and feeble. His dantian's core was almost shattered. His meridians were broken and damaged.

But compared to these injuries, his physical body injuries seemed superficial for a man of his degree of cultivation.

However, if it were any other ordinary man, they would not be able to survive such a disaster.

If he were still on Earth, even with a speedy rescue and the right treatments given, it would take him more than a year or two to fully recover from his injury.

His ribcage was broken and fractured in many places.

The turbulence's space quake nearly crushed his lungs and internal organs. It wouldn't be a simple wounded organ he faced if he hadn't already tempered them previously.

The injury to the brain appeared to be the most severe. When the space channel broke, it seemed that he had suffered a severe concussion. That's the reason his mental strength had suffered a heavy decline.

At the moment, he was no different than an injured ordinary person who had not cultivated.

At the very least, I still have my life. These injuries could be healed in no time.

Ceid lamented with a wry smile.

Thankfully, despite his mental consciousness suffered a heavy injury, he still retained some mental strength.

He tried to peek into the storage space and find the necessary medicine to cure his physical body. He also needed to find a suitable pill to repair the broken meridians and blood vessels.

As for his mental consciousness injury, dantian's core damage, and the vanished Aura Qi, he could only slowly restore through cultivation. There is no pill to solve these injuries and damages directly.

Why?

This is because the mental consciousness, the dantian's core, and the inner Aura Qi were molded through tempering and accumulation of Aura Qi. Thus, the only way to remedy the damage is to recultivate and remold them using Aura Qi.

And as long as the brain remained intact and active, he could restore and enhance his mental consciousness.

For now, he doesn't need to desirably enhance his brain activity since he still retains his original cultivation. On the other hand, any injury to the head and brain would easily be solved when he healed his body.

Soon, two pills appeared on Ceid's palm.

The first pill is a pill with a reddish-blue color. This was the Rejuvenation Pill, a miracle pill for the mortal to recover from physical injury completely. It is capable of healing all parts of the physical body, including internal organs, bones, and the brain.

Thankfully, he didn't lose any limbs, or else he would need to use a more precious medicine, Nascent Nirvana Pill. He had a limited stock of the Nascent Nirvana Pill that he would prefer not to waste it.

The second pill was a red pill with a green pattern. It was the Meridian Tempering Pill, a favorite pill for body-tempering practitioners. It is a pill to heal the injured meridians.

Generally, it was used when tempering the meridians through intense fight training sessions. After each training session, the meridian would usually be injured. Thus, the pill was used not only to heal the meridians but also to rebuild stronger meridians.

Looking at the pills, Ceid immediately took it into his mouth.
