As they reached the final camera, Kaito felt a rush of adrenaline. They had successfully disabled the security system on the east side, and now it was time to create a distraction.
"Let's make some noise," Kaito said, pulling out a small smoke bomb they had prepared. "This should draw the guards' attention away from the main entrance."
Lyra nodded, her expression determined. "Let's do it."
Kaito lit the smoke bomb and tossed it toward a nearby alley. The device erupted in a cloud of thick smoke, filling the air with a loud bang. The sound echoed through the streets, and Kaito could see guards rushing toward the source of the noise.
"Now's our chance!" he shouted, grabbing Lyra's hand as they dashed toward the main entrance of the headquarters. The guards were distracted, and they had a clear path ahead.
As they entered the building, Kaito felt a surge of adrenaline. They were inside, and the fight for freedom had begun. The halls were dimly lit, and the sound of their footsteps echoed in the silence.
"Stay alert," Kaito whispered, scanning the area for any signs of danger. They moved through the corridors, knowing they had to find the central control room to disable communications.
Suddenly, Kaito heard voices approaching. "We need to check the east side!" a guard shouted. "There's been a disturbance!"
Kaito and Lyra quickly ducked into a nearby room, holding their breath as the guards passed by. Kaito could feel his heart racing, and he exchanged a glance with Lyra. They were in this together, and they had to stay focused.
Once the guards had moved on, they slipped out of the room and continued down the hallway. Kaito felt a mix of excitement and fear as they approached the control room. They were so close to achieving their goal.
