Chapter 14 - Chapter 14:The outcome

As Void walked toward the meeting room at Project Zero, he felt a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere. He knocked on the door, but no one responded. After a second knock, Master Haruka's voice called out, "Come in." The room was filled with a serious and dangerous vibe that made Void uneasy. Noticing his discomfort, Master Haruka said, "There's no need to be afraid."

"Yes, ma'am," Void replied politely and carefully.

Master Haruka then said, "Due to recent events, we've decided to expel you from this place."

"Why?" Void asked loudly.

"Breaking the rules isn't a crime on its own," Master Haruka said, "but you killed an instructor. Take your things and leave the organization. You need to be gone by midnight tomorrow."

The air grew cold with the other instructors' bloodlust. Void knew pushing the issue would only make things worse, so he decided to leave.

As he walked away, Void thought, "The world of heroes doesn't want me, and the world of villains doesn't want me either. What does this world want from me?"

Suddenly, someone tapped his shoulder and vanished, leaving a note that read:

Dear Void,

I hope this letter reaches you amidst the shadows surrounding you. I am Infinity, and I'm extending an invitation that goes beyond time.

In four years, I will host a competition with unprecedented challenges. The top ten winners will gain entry into Project Zero. This event is open to exceptional beings, including outsiders like you.

Project Zero seeks your unique abilities. I invite you to join this competition. The shadows within you could lead you to a new opportunity. If you win, the doors of Project Zero will open for you.

However, be aware that I will be watching you closely during the competition. Your actions will be under scrutiny.

Time is ticking. Choose wisely, Void, as your future may be as mysterious as the shadows you command.

Yours in shadows,

Infinity

Void was intrigued by Infinity and what they wanted from him. Excited by the new chance, he said, "Finally, destiny has given me another opportunity, and I will gladly take it." Little did he know, if he had known what awaited him, he might have reconsidered.

With only 24 hours left before he had to leave, Kaito decided to get what he wanted—the skill books from the dorm library.

Under the moonlight, Void moved silently toward the library, blending into the shadows. He had to break into the secured library and steal forbidden knowledge. As he picked the lock and entered, he was careful to avoid detection.

Inside, the library was filled with the smell of old books. Void moved quietly between the shelves, searching for the secret tomes. As he reached for a book, he felt a strange awareness, as if unseen eyes were watching him.

Void continued, quickly grabbing books on forbidden techniques and ancient histories. But as he reached for the last book, alarms suddenly blared, and red lights filled the room.

Undeterred, Void grabbed the final book and vanished into the shadows. As he escaped through the corridors, the alarms and flashing lights created a chaotic scene.

Outside, the moonlight greeted Void as he ran. The instructors, alerted by the breach, quickly moved to intercept him. Master Takeshi, the martial artist, attacked with lightning speed, but Void evaded him with ease. Master Hana, the infiltration expert, tried to catch him from above but failed. Master Akio used mystical chains, but Void slipped through them.

The instructors and guards couldn't capture him. Void's movements were like a dance with shadows. Even as the guards struggled, one remarked, "It's like he's become one with the shadows."

Amid the chaos, Aeon, an enigmatic figure, observed and instructed the forces, "Let him go. The shadows have chosen their path. This isn't over."

As Void disappeared into the night, the facility fell silent. The stolen books were his prize, and his escape left a lasting impact on Project Zero. The shadows had danced, and their story would continue to unfold.
