Chapter 1 - We're not alone

From the Arthur:

Humanity is thrown into the realty of existing alien civilizations and cosmic horrors. How will humanity survive in a galaxy with a single spaceship? If that was not bad enough this single ship has originally crashed to earth and we tried to fix it and upgrade it to the best of our ability.

What secrets does the galaxy hold?

What treasure can we find?

What loot can we bring back?

What secrets does the crashed ship hold?

this is a fictional story based on many reedit si-fy aliens try to enslave earth and get more then they wished for trope situation with a bit of star trek and star wars thrown in to make a big messy sloppy burger. if you enjoy this type of story than keep reading.

I tent to jump between first and third person view a lot I hope that my readers can forgive me.

Forgive the errors in spelling and grammar as English is not my first language. Please let me know when you find them and I will definitely fix it.

I have no idea how often I can drop new chapters as I write for fun. if you want me to do something about that and to put everything together and write like crazy.

----- ------ -----

12/21/2028 was just another day like any other boring day. As no one was expecting the sky to go dark as a huge spaceship slowly began to descend.

It looked like it went through he'll and back.

The smoke fire's that made the air as thick as ash. In less than one hour the surrounding smoke hid most of the actual damage a mile up in the sky before it even crash landed.

The only lucky thing that day was the actual site of the crash itself as the behemoth flying craft had only destroyed two small towns. Several thousand people were literally squished to death. As the rest were choked by smoke and radiation.

So nothing big considering the fact that this craft had enough fireworks to erase a moon.

I believe humanity was literally given a free gift to go to space!

After years of fighting about who this crashed space technology belongs to? And what to do with it. Humanity decided to learn from it and try to fix it.

We finally realized that we were not alone in this crazy galaxy. And that this galaxy was not safe. There was war in this galaxy full of aliens was less of a surprise but more of a given fact. I mean conflict is always the answer when you wish to keep a rich deposit or a unique limited source.

Time past and as all the top scientists and all world top thinkers did their best to make a smoking chunk of space metal into a safe to fly spacecraft.

So after fixing the problems with the ship a crazy test to choose who will be able to actually join the crew to fly it was open to the entire planet. The test was online.

The rules are simple.

1: agree that you are not ever coming back alive.

2: pass a basic physical test.

3: provide a great reason why you qualify.

4: be willing to follow orders.

5: do all what's expected of you without whining.

8 million people have submitted their applications in less than a day. Forcing the site to freeze and eventually close the test on the next day.

The computer was used to make the final selection of a total 2000 personal.

------

My name is not important anymore because no one who knew me by that name is left alive. For the rest of the earth I'm called "Blade" I was a member of the Russian gray wolfs. A unique spetsnaz group who specialize in guerilla tactics. My favorite way to hunt the enemy was with nothing but a knife.

I have submitted my application on the website just a couple of weeks ago and just like the rest of the world and was hoping to get a positive response.

Sleep escaped me.

It was hard to work or eat as my mind just floated away into the crazy possibilities of life in space. The lure of the unknown ate away my sleep.

The stress of waiting for the lottery to pick me was eating away from the depths of the soul.

I began a daily ritual outside lying on the grass at night wearing only a towel. My eyes just ate up the stars with greed as sleep escaped them.

Even now as I started up at the deep dark my ears were picking up the fain steps of military boots two people just two houses down the street.

My hand reached out to the cold steel of my favorite knife that lay only a few seconds out of reach. And I rotated it hiding it under my arm as my body waited without moving from the grass. My body was now like a snake that was ready to strike.

"Blade you are called to be a Viking" a tired tone of a man made me fully aware of the fact that I just won the lottery.

"When?" A sleepy reply escaped my mouth.

The smell of a female drifted to me. I opened my to notice as she tried to keep her eyes from eating the sexy frame of a man who lay on the ground with nothing but a towel on. To make it worse the size of the said material did little to hide much of his perfect figure.

"Tomorrow at 1300 hours. ... You know where" a slow answer escaped from the red-faced woman as she escaped from the uncomfortable situation like a fly from a spider.

(I hope she will be there) was all that I couldn't think about as I began playing with my knife. Looking into the deep stars ones more.

(Space Viking huh....) my brain started to throw me into a death battle with a monstrous creature that was spewing out liquid gue in order to save the bare body of the woman who just left and many other similar situations flooded into my mind.

To say I was excited was an understatement of the universe. So my body actually levitates as I rush in to grab my bag that was already to go. My hand flew to the guns and ammo placing every single thing into its place. Flash bangs and smoke bombs clip on the belt just as if they were a part of my frame.

Last minute check and I crash back to the soft grass already in full gear to grab a couple of hours of sleep.

-----

Arriving on to the lunch site my body froze as I lay my eyes on the frame of the actual spaceship right in front of me.

It was literally a bigger version of a famous star wars smuggler ship.

The one and only The Millennium Falcon! The only difference was this one was way bigger so version 2.0!

It was an upgrade as it had several floors and at least five times bigger.

The other big difference was the paint color choices. Reds, blacks and gold made it look like a firebird. Its design was in a ww2 fighter pilot stile. The bold art streamed out hugging the curves in such an aggressive fashion that it made me smile.

(I can't believe humanity was literally given the Millennium Falcon as a gift.) My brain was simply melting to say the least.

"Fall in." A gruff tone that held the tone of countless battles behind it woke me up and I was facing a grumpy man of fifty years and the body of a killer gorilla with more metals on his chest that I couldn't think of even blinking.

The four stars on his shoulders gave me all I needed to know.

"Sir. Yes sir." escaped my dry throat as my training kicked in and my body corrected its posture. With no fanfare I followed him like a love struck puppy.
