Well I'm alone again in my travels. I'll probably won't see Patrick ever again in this wide world but no one really knows what's going to happen in the future. Anyway its been a hour since Patrick went somewhere to search for a town and I was kinda following the directions of the mana detector here. Well I should allocate my points now. I placed a 145 points in intelligence, 100 points in agility, 50 in concentration

My stats seems a bit unbalanced but I've been facing enemies that easily crushed my mana shields and because of that I have to be faster than them a by a bit. I really have no use for strength so I didn't put any points there. Intelligence was obvious since I am a mage character (note: can you put points into wisdom and vitality?) and putting 50 points into the fast growing concentration was fine for me as well. Sometimes I have a feeling that a spell might not work which was very troubling for me but ever since the concentration stat grew, this problem disappeared for most parts.
Anyway I'm 9 kilometres away from the target now....its been an hour since I started walking towards it and I'm pretty sure I didn't walk for more than a kilometre yet. That means its coming in my direction right now...which was kinda worrying. But on the other hand I can finally get out of this God damn forest.
"Good. Now I have to pass the time as I try to find it."
I started wondering in the general direction of the creature again. Oh I have to find some food as well. I was running low on food ever since I ran out of rye bread and I I had to resort to getting wolf meat to fill up on my Satisfaction metre. Time to search for a wolf to kill. Or I could just try to find a rabbit to eat. Though there has been a lacking of them in this forest for some reason. Anyway there has also been a lacking of all kinds of creatures in this place.
Anyway after 10 minutes a searching, I found some wolves that I promptly killed to get their meat. And I noticed that the experience they gave me was non-existence now. Well I am level 84 now. Levelling beyond normal reasoning because of the Minotaur bullshit I went through. If you ask me, I didn't gain enough levels by facing that thing at level 40 something. It was literally hell even though I got some help from that weird voice mid-way. And my inner sadist emerged in the end as well. And I tortured the Minotaur to death...lets not go there. Anyway time to travel some more.
Some time later...
"Bring FOOD to HOME!" screamed a goblin near me though I was hidden away observing the situation.
Well I found something though I want to kill it. Along side this lone goblin were a couple of other ones that seem to be gathering food for some reason. Hell, I know the reason. The thing I'm trying to get to is eating everything in this forest.
"MOVE MOVE MOVE" screamed the very same goblin.
I have a feeling that this will end up like the time I followed a kobold to its home. But I wasn't that patient anymore. I got up from the brush I was hiding in and moved towards the goblin which prompted to alert its allies to my presence.
"HUMAN HUMAN!"
My god the words this thing spit out of its mouth annoy me beyond death.
"Lightning Bolt."
I killed the little critter in front of me as the others ran to me trying to attack.
"Mana Shield. Earth Spikes"
The 5 goblins that were foolish enough to attack me were stopped by my mana shield.
Mana Shield took 72 damage
Mana Shield took 52 damage
Mana Shield took 93 damage
Mana Shield took 85 damage
Mana Shield took 44 damage
Goblins were around level 50. Normally they would do around the same or more than lizardmen but since my skill level for mana shield is beginner level 3, the amount of damage the shield takes a lot less damage than usual. Level 1 had 100 health, level 2 had 300 health and level 3 had 500 health per shield. Each time the skill levelled up the number of shells I'm able to produce increase by 1.
Several Earth spikes appeared next to me and pierced the 5 goblins. They all died in one hit each. I looked around and found that there was one goblin that was late to the party. Good I can use this one. An evil smile emerged from my face as I stared down the goblin whom was regretting coming to its allies' call.
The goblin tried to escape. I won't let it go.
"Ice prison."
Ice started to form on the goblin's legs and it fell on its face as its legs were now frozen. Walking to it I tried to not look like I'm going to kill it just yet. The goblin was panicking even more so as I got closer trying to pound the ice off its legs. When I was no more than 1 metre away from it, the goblin started to try to crawl away from me using its arms to pull its body.
"Which way to your home?" I asked in my nicest voice ever.
The goblin on the other hand was shaking beyond hell. It couldn't even speak in front of me. This is going nowhere. I have to get some information out of it or I'm wasting my time here. But that was the reason why I was plying this game in the first place. Though I like to role play sometimes....Anyway how do I persuade this thing to give me the information from its tiny brain? Ask nicely, gain its trust or I could just threaten it. Goblins are not known to betray their allies.
"Lightning Bolt."
I shot a lightning bolt next to it with a threatening glance.
"Where is your home. Your kind's lair. Where is it?"
The goblin started to try and point to a direction with its arms but it wasn't making sense.
"THAT WAY THAT WAY!"
The goblin was pointing to its left which wasn't very accurate. Maybe I should chain it. Yes, I should do that.
"Creation Magic: Iron Chains"
A sort of long chain was produced in my hands, there was a collar at the end which I attached to the goblin's neck. I undid my ice prison spell on it to allow it to move.
"HUMAN DIE!"
And it decided to attack me immediately.
"Ice spike."
I made the ice spike appear in front of it instead of under it, making sure the chain wasn't hit. The goblin was once more shocked by my magic. It fell to its back as the ice spike disappeared.
I walked up to it again and said, "Take me to your lair." in a commanding voice.
This time the goblin nodded its green head and started walking in the direction it was pointing at. Looks like it was telling the truth.
Some more annoying moments later....
We finally got to the lair which wasn't that far away. Anyway I should get rid of this thing next to me.
"Earth Spike."
The goblin was killed and the chain broke. Meh. My skill with creation magic was still at beginner level 1. It doesn't matter if the chain broke. To me the skill was kinda useless since I can do most things using my other magic. The lair entrance was a hole in a giant rock. From what I see there were some goblins coming in and out a couple times a minute. I should get rid of them.
"Fire ball times 4."
4 fireballs were produced and flew to 4 different goblins and burnt them to death.
"FIRE FIRE!"
The goblins started shouting and screaming again. Man I should learn some sound magic that blocks out the voices of these things.
"15 left." I commented.
There were 5 at the entrance. 3 to the left of it and 7 to the right. I imagined the goblins being sucked into a ball shape.
"Wind vortex."
The goblins were pulled by an invisible force which was a lot of wind blowing them to the centre of the vortex. They were screaming out loud but I wasn't listening to them. After 10 seconds the spell ended and the goblins were dropped on the ground still stunned by the spell.
Taking this chance I said, "Fire Field."
From the bottom the goblins were being burnt to death by my fire but 3 of them managed to get out alive.
"Earth Spikes times 3"
3 earth spikes appeared and killed the remaining goblins. Okay now I should clear this place out as well. I walked in the entrance with the goblin corpses still burning next to me and was expecting for a message to appear indicating that I was the first to discover the dungeon first.....but it didn't appear.
So...someone else was here before? Likely but I haven't seen much of humans beside Patrick. And this forest is somewhere I don't know so it might be someone discovered this place but it not clear it out or cleared it and left never telling anyone about this place.
Either way, I don't gain the fame and double experience bonus and I will clear this place out. My skill proficiency in pretty much all my skills and such are skill in the beginner level even though I'm level 84 now. Damn that Minotaur...it gave me so much experience that I have to actually worry about skill proficiency.
"KILL HUMAN!"
A lowly goblin appeared in front of me.
"Mana Shield times 3"
It took out its low quality sword and started to hack at me.

"DIE"
Every time I casted a mana shield, my skill proficiency increased and every time one broke, it also increased the proficiency a bit. I allowed the goblin to destroy my mana shield a couple times before...well killing it.
"Lightning bolt."
The goblin died. Anyway I let it break all of my shields and got 3% from it. So I get 1% of skill proficiency every time something destroys my mana shield. On the other hand I get 3% every time I cast it. One would think to cast the mana shield then dispel it and recast it but the problem is that you don't gain any skill proficiency form doing that for some reason. So I'm stuck with letting things destroy my mana shield every time or let the shield last for at least a hour which I experimented with before when no one was looking....
"Mana Shield Skill Window"
Mana Shield Beginner Level 3 (51%)
To create a shell to protect the user form all harm big and small. Also known as a borg in some places, magicians of the past often used this in battle to protect themselves from physical and magical attacks. Only one shell can be produced at a time but as the skill levels up the number of shells produced and the strength of each shell will increase.
Shield Health per use: 500
Number of Shields able to create at one time: 3
Mana Cost: 100
That one 'battle' increased the skill proficiency by 12% in total in case you can't add. Well time to clear this place out.
