When I opened my eyes again I noticed I was in the white space again. Man how the hell did I die? Did something hit me from behind? Hmm.....lets think of everything that happened. I 'found' the thing I was looking for. It was a giant humanoid purple rabbit. It spotted me and started chasing me and I tried to stop it but my spells were ineffective. Then it jumped on me crushing one of my mana shields and started to pop the other ones as well. I used fire field to get it off me in a last ditch effect then I managed to trap it using ice prison but it managed to get out and almost kill me in one hit. Then it started to...eat me. A message appeared about some seal being released and I got some sort of power up.....and then I was owing it and finally killed it from some force that voice created.....and then I coughed up blood and died.
Hmm.....wait...Warlic said.....that excess mana would kill me...the message...said that my mana limit was released....that means I had so much mana that I died? That could be it but I have to ask Warlic later when I next see him about this.
I started to scratch my chin thinking of the next thing I should do when I log back in the game.
"Lin you there?"
Ah. It was the voice of Seraph the fourth something. I can't really remember his full name right now since it has been...around 2 months since I went in game.
"Yes I am" responding to the question.
"So how was the game?" asked Seraph a bit concern for me since I am their experiment.
"Good. I died though"
I heard some laughter in the background. There were definitely some other people with Seraph as well. Maybe he was laughing at me as well.
"Did you die because of a rabbit or something?" said Seraph in a sarcastic tone.
"Kind of." I replied immediately.
Well the rabbit did lead me to die so I wasn't lying. There was more laughter in the background. These people are seriously getting on my nerves now. How can you laugh at someone who just died.
"Don't worry. Everyone dies as a beginner. So how did the rabbit kill you."
Lets see it...
"Punched me using its arm then started to eat me alive....then I killed it after some events and I died for some reason." I said while recalling the memories.
"...."
No response? Well there aren't any rabbits that grow into the size of the thing I encounter but still...no reaction at all?
"Are you sure you were playing Royal Road?" asked Seraph.
"Yeah. I did the whole character creation thing as well and stayed in a town for 4 weeks before I could go out of the walls. Though I was forced out in the after 3 weeks due to a quest...."
"...Are you sure your playing Royal Road?" asked Seraph again.
"Yeah you installed the game for me right?"
"Yeah...I was just asking."
After that Seraph made me do a full report on what happened to me exactly. I left some details out of course since I don't want these people to know about everything I did such as how I got a new unknown race and class...I just said I was a mage and that was all. I did however include the fact that I met Warlic and Crysero and I was forced to collect theses mana fragments and that was why I was facing the rabbit monster.
"Lin we have a suggestion."
A suggestion? What for?
"We will gather information on what's happening in Royal Road for you. Also you can easily view some companies gaming content with Royal Road in a tavern "
Oh, I didn't know that. I wonder how they work with the 4x speed issue? Do they put ads or something in? But first I need to know what's happening. I've been stuck in a remote town and a forest for 6 weeks.
"Fine. Give me some information then"
"Okay then lets see...the game has been released for a while now and has been a massive success. Unicorn has announced that they will release the game internationally a bit later to the few countries it didn't cover yet."
"Won't the language barrier be a problem?"
"Lin, do you think everyone in the game is speaking English to you? They're are and are not at the same time. Royal Road has a perfect translator and that's why people around the world can enjoy themselves to the fullest." sighed Seraph.
"I see that makes sense."
It would be strange for a game released in Korea originally to allow other players play on their one server if they could not resolve the language issue.
"Anything else?" I asked curious about what happened.
"A couple of sieges of some castles, prices of things being altered and other stuff as well. Nothing big happened recently." chanted Seraph.
"What do you mean by big." I asked trying to find out to what extent big counts.
"Big as in it affects the rest of the continent. B rank quests and the likes have a small effect. A rank quests like the legion of undead have a massive effect on the continent. If Weed failed, most of the continent would be swarming with undead and there would be another war against them with the churches leading the way against Bar Khan."
I see. There was some chatter around me about this legion of undead. So it also involved Royal Road. Man, people talking about this game are everywhere. Getting Seraph to explain things to me is handy but can I actually watch TV here?
"Hey Seraph."
"Yes?"
"Am I able to watch TV in this place or something?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because it causes too much strain on your brain."
"And playing a game that accelerates you brain by 4 times and watching TV in the game isn't?"
"We tested this before and found that the brain does not go faster than the limit when you're playing Royal Road but other things might and that will kill you."
"What are you hiding?" I'm very suspicious right now.
"Do you want me to disconnect you?" threatened Seraph.
"No....Sorry."
24 hours later...
Finally I can get back in Royal Road. I activated the game and a familiar message appeared.
— Welcome to Royal Road.
