Chapter 12 - History (2)

In contrast, Trerena became a dark and foreboding place, shrouded in darkness and gloom. The landscape was rugged and harsh, with jagged peaks, deep ravines, and treacherous swamps. The people of Trerena were feared and mistrusted since their lands became like that, and they became rumored to practice dark magic and worship evil gods. Despite their differences, both countries possessed some control over magic and were equally matched in strength. However, their hatred for each other prevented them from ever working together. It led to a constant state of conflict and tension.

For many years, the countries ignored each other until something as destructive as a bomb connected them again… love. The future ruler of Trerena saw the princess of Heiliania during a meeting and fell in love at first sight… However, his love was unrequited… he and the people in his lands didn't know how the people of Heiliania began to see them over the years.

After many rejections, the young man who eventually became a ruler grew resentful of the princess, and things got worse when she married… around the time of the marriage, it became more clear that the people of Trerena were seen as disgusting creatures… the ruler decided to take over their lands by launching an attack on Heiliania.

Wars ravaged those lands for over five hundred years… until a few years ago, the conflicts stopped. Still, then the atmosphere didn't improve, and both countries knew that they were planning something big to deal with each other. In their case, they created a magic bomb… Aaron had no idea what the other country had in mind.

"Do you have any other versions of this?" Aaron asked. "I am going to ask just this once… if you are hiding something like this in any other place, I will destroy this country by myself, and the castle will be the first to go down with you and everyone in it."

"... There aren't," The queen said after a brief moment of silence without looking away.

"Very well, if you are lying or not, it doesn't matter," Aaron said. "The fate of your country was decided the moment you decided to create this, and the idea of power got into your head."

Some skeletons appeared and began to carry the parts of the bomb outside. Aaron couldn't do anything aside from that, given his current skills and strength, so it couldn't be helped.

"I am going to deal with the other country and stop them from doing the same retard shit," Aaron said. "I will be far away, but I will know if you do something to try to get on me or use weapons of mass destruction. Don't think that you will be safe just because you can't see me."

Aaron's army was over three hundred already, and while they left the castle in a line and Aaron was the last to leave, no one dared to do anything to him. They never saw Necromancy, so as far as they knew, it was an invincible type of magic since they didn't know that Aaron had other skills to support him.

The bloodlust of all the guards and mercenaries in the city was quite something, but Aaron was used to doing that, so he didn't react in any way. As for the ordinary people, they tried not to even look at him in the eye and hid in their houses until he left the city.

Once he returned to where he left his horse, Aaron noticed that the sun was setting, but he didn't have time to waste. He began to ride his horse and made his skeletons carry the pieces of the bomb… when everything was dark; he made them split up. When morning came, he had only half of the skeletons, and they were carrying a bunch of the parts.

"I need another mount… an undead horse or something will do since they don't get tired," Aaron thought and then patted his horse. "Nothing against you, friend. I am just a busy person, and I can't afford to waste a single second."

Aaron made some skeletons spread around the area to hunt most things that they could find while the horse was resting. At the same time, Aaron took a nap and woke up when the skeletons had finished bringing their second pile of corpses.

After hearing the history of those two countries, Aaron could tell that he would have to be a bit harsher on the next country since they were in a worse situation if compared to the first one… they wouldn't listen to words alone.

Along the way, Aaron expected to be attacked since the trip would take a few weeks to reach the other country and then their capital, but much to his surprise, nothing happened. Aaron hoped that he would level up and get some skills that would help him move faster, but while he leveled up, he didn't get that kind of skill.

Ding! [You obtained 20 experience points]

(You have recovered five points of mana.)

(You have leveled up.)

(You obtained ten status points and two skill points.)

(You learned a new skill: Summon Skeleton Knight.)

(Summon Skeleton Knight Lv 01: summon a skeleton knight at the cost of twenty points of mana and a corpse. The parameters of the creature will be equal to the level of the skill multiplied by ten.)

(You learned a new skill: Bone Armor.)

Passive: Bone Armor Lv 01: Summons an armor made of bones that can repair itself over time. The level of the skill multiplied by fifty determines how much damage it can take, and the armor can recover one point of durability per hour multiplied by the level of the skill.

"Well… at least I am getting more equipped for fighting," Aaron thought.
