'Weak Point,' he whispered, noticing the red line drawn upon the monster's neck as soon as he activated the skill.
He dodged the attack and swung his sword, aiming for the throat, but the goblin managed to react and moved his head back, avoiding the attack.
"Shit," Max cursed under his breath, "I missed."
"Kraaak!" the goblin replied as he hit the ground with his axe, creating a shockwave that sent the boy flying against the wall.
'Damn it...' Max thought as he noticed his head was heavily bleeding from this single shockwave, 'he's stronger than I expected.'
His perception showed him the outline of the goblin chief approaching him, so he quickly stood up and prepared himself for the next attack.
"Groak!" the monster roared as he jumped at Max, who rolled to the side, causing the goblin to hit the cave wall and make a huge hole in it, showing Max just how strong that dumbass monster could be if his body ever hit him in full force.
He then took advantage of the situation and stabbed the creature in the back, but the armor was too thick for his garbage stolen sword to pierce through even with all the strength he put into his stab.
"Damn it!" he yelled as he pulled his weapon out, but before he could try to stab the goblin again and try to do the same thing he did to the adventurer's shield, the chief turned around and kicked him, sending him flying once more and hit another one of those walls in full force.
He coughed out blood as he hit the hard surface and almost blacked out as a result of the sheer force of the impact, he was even surprised his organs weren't crushed, but his enhanced endurance stats seemed to greatly help with that.
"This is getting annoying..." Max muttered as he stood up again, his whole body was aching, but he couldn't give up now, he had come too far to die here.
[Focus on your speed Host, it is futile to mindlessly attack resistant enemies]
'Yeah yeah...' he sighed as he watched the goblin approach him again, but this time, he decided to change tactics and follow the divination's idea, it might be keen on killing others, but it had also helped him all this while and had his survival as it's greatest interest.
"Kraaak" the chief said as he raised his axe, preparing to strike down on the human that had already escaped two of his attacks alive, but Max didn't do anything, instead deciding to close his eyes and focus on his speed and on the enemy's upcoming strike.
"Kraaaaak!" the monster roared again as he swung his weapon at Max, but the boy had already disappeared from his sight.
'Weak Points,' he whispered, and suddenly, he appeared behind the goblin thanks to his speed, his sword ready to cut its throat.
"Kraaaaaa-!" the goblin tried to scream, but it was too late, the sword that was following the red line had already pierced through his flesh and slightly cut his neck in half, barely rendering the monster conscious as he was in indescribable pain, leaving his head on his body but not fully attached.
Max pulled his sword out of the monster's neck and watched as it fell on its knees, dropping its axe on the ground and holding its head while screaming repeatedly, but not screams of rage like Max expected any video game monster to do but of agony.
"KRAAAAK GAARGHH AAAAAAARRGH"
The black-haired boy couldn't help but feel annoyed, couldn't that stupid monster just shut up?
But his divination came to the rescue yet again.
[Host, let us advance forward]
"Just die..." he raised his sword above the goblin chief's head, 'you pathetic monster"
And just like that, he slashed the monster's neck, ending its life forever.
~Ding!~
'What...?' Max wondered as he heard the notification, it sounded different from the usual ones, and it seemed more important.
He immediately looked at the many screens that appeared in front of him.
[+6 levels for killing "Goblin Chief"]
[+53 Assassination Points]
Wait a minute... does this mean...?
[Assassination Points: 1000/1000]
[Congratulations Host, you are now eligible to upgrade the special ability: "Assassination"]
Max smiled as he read those words, after days of constant fighting with monsters since he was teleported to this forest, he had finally reached the required amount of APs needed to unlock the next stage of his special ability, which would surely increase his power even further if it revealed itself to be strong, after all, he didn't know the ranking of his divination as it showed "evil" instead of a letter.
'Divination,' he asked, 'how do I upgrade my special ability?'
But his divination didn't answer, instead, it kept silent, making Max frown as he felt like it was ignoring him.
'Hey!' he called again, 'I know you can hear me, so tell me how to upgrade my ability!'
Met with silence again, the reincarnated boy decided that it would be a better option to look it up himself, so he muttered the words "status window".

[Yes/No]
Max guessed that the answer was so obvious his divination didn't find the heart in itself to respond to his stupidity, but it was a good lesson for the boy: always take initiative before asking for help.
He immediately clicked on yes, and soon, he felt a strange feeling enveloping his whole body, one that made him shiver as it felt extremely uncomfortable.
'Is this supposed to happen...?' he asked himself, but no answer came, which meant that he was alone again.
Suddenly, the feeling disappeared, and Max was left wondering what happened, but then, he noticed something weird.
His status screen had changed, specifically the section about his special ability.
