Max's skill had worked at the last second and he managed to dodge the goblin king's attack before it could hit him and kill him on the spot.
Using the increase in speed thanks to his double jump, he dashed straight into the goblin king's eye and hit it in full force with the tip of his sword, making sure to perfectly align it to cause the highest amount of damage.
"TAKE THIS YOU BIG GREEN FUCK!" the boy shouted as he did all of this.
"KRAAAAAK!" the monster roared in pain as he held his face, trying to get the human out of his eye, but Max didn't let go, instead, he kept stabbing the creature's eye over and over again until it became completely blind, rendering it with only one working one.
"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" the goblin king screamed out of desperation and shook his head violently, sending back Max crashing onto the ground, only surviving the fall because of using the double jump skill at the last moment.
"I call this the infinite fall damage glitch!" the boy, very enthusiastic about video games in his past life smirked and said.
He then stood up and ran towards the goblin king, who was still screaming and cursing him for what he had done to both him and his people, almost making him feel like he was in the wrong for the slaughter, but Max honestly didn't care at this point.
If his divination is evil, then why shouldn't he be? Aren't the two closely linked to one another because of their bond?
And that's when the boss did something Max hadn't expected any monster to do: use a skill.
"GROAK ROAK RAAAAAKKK!" which roughly translated to "SUPER SPIN AXE!" was the name of the skill the goblin king shouted like an anime villain before suddenly turning in circles on himself at full speed, all the boy could see now was the giant blurry figure of the spinning goblin approaching him at full speed, making the wind around him blow violently.
Max tried to run away but the monster's attack was too fast, and he was sent flying the moment he came in contact with it, this time hitting the wall with such force that he couldn't move anymore, his whole body was aching and he was sure that some of his bones were broken.
"Kraaaak!" the goblin king kept spinning rapidly while approaching Max, seemingly eager to end his life.
'There's no way I can hit him like this...' the reincarnated boy thought as he couldn't discern any of the beast's features.
[Aiming for the enemy's weak point is the best solution in such situations]
Max was enraged that his divination finally spoke just to say this, but this also made the gears in his brain turn.
'Weak Points,' he whispered, and soon, he noticed the red line drawn upon the monster's second eye, it was also rapidly turning, but it made it way easier to see the location of the thing Max should hit.
The goblin king was getting closer and closer to him, and Max knew that he had to act fast or else he would die, so he took a deep breath and focused on the task at hand.
He only had his sword in hand and moving would only exhaust him even further, which meant the solution was to...
'I'LL THROW THAT WEAPON STRAIGHT AT HIM,' Max filled with determination said before launching his sword towards the red line, he had waited the perfect moment according to his perception and the goblin king was now only meters away from him.
And that's when the blade hit the goblin king's eye at the perfect time, making him scream in pain and stop his spin, which resulted in him throwing the sword back on the ground towards Max, who caught it mid-air and dashed forward to finally end the fight.
"KRAAAAAAAK!" the monster screamed in agony.
But it was too late, nothing could turn back the gears of destiny, and so with a final attack that combined all the strength and speed he acquired, Max slashed the goblin king's neck from his back as he couldn't see where the boy was located.
"T-this is... over..." the king mumbled before falling on his knees, and eventually on his stomach, he was slowly giving his last breath, finally defeated by a human.
Max stood in front of the goblin king who was blind.
"W-who are you?" it asked Max, "you can speak g-goblin tongue... and you defeated me even though you looked weaker..."
"My name is Max Evans," he replied, "and i'm a... warrior," he didn't want to reveal he was an assassin to even someone that was dying.
"I see..." the king muttered, "can I ask you a favor, Max Evans?"
"What is it?" the boy wondered what a dying goblin would want from him, he was ready to kill him after all.
"Please... spare the women and children.." the king said, "they don't deserve to die because of me..."
Max was surprised that the king would say something like that, he was expecting him to beg for his life or something, but this was unexpected.
But...
"No, I will kill them all," Max maniacally smiled even though he knew that the king couldn't see him, and he noticed that the goblin king's expression was now filled with rage and despair.
"Y...you fucking m-monster... at some point... this world will.... end you..." these were the last words the king said before giving his last breath, and Max honestly couldn't care less, this world had already thrown him to die, so they can come and try to kill him all they want, him and his divination won't go down easily, also aren't goblins supposed to be super weak? He could probably take them all in without any problem.
[Amazing job Host, we have showed this fool who the strongest ones are, now let us head to the goblin village and complete what we came here to do]
Max nodded slowly and noticed that there was another giant door behind the king's throne, he immediatelly guessed that it was used to access the village so he slowly walked there, making sure to keep his sword in hand incase he saw any goblin that hadn't already ran away.
But as he slowly marched towards his location, he couldn't help but notice the screens that had appeared above his head.
[+12 levels, defeated "Goblin King"]
[+1489 Assassination Points]
And just like that, Max had finally defeated the Goblin King, his goal of escaping this forest was slowly coming to an end.
