Max kept fighting Cheol with the rapier he acquired from that middle-ranked dungeon, blocking every blow from the warrior no matter how fast it came.
Max's eyes were enhanced, which meant his vision allowed him to not only see things that were far, but also fast.
This is why he could keep up with Cheol even though his speed was clearly superior.
"You are strong for someone with a B-ranked divination," Cheol smiled, "you must have been training for years to reach this level, I can applaud you."
But Max could only raise his eyebrows, 'Years? What a joke.'
Maybe it was because his divination was evil-ranked, which he didn't know the rank of in letters, that he had acquired strength so fast, or maybe that's because he had faced death so many times his body grew stronger.
Well, it didn't matter anyway, all that mattered was that he was standing there, keeping up with an S-ranked warrior.
