*Boom*
The loud booming noise resonated like a dragon's roar throughout the entire Gluanna city, which caused all the Non-magicians to crouch down and run directly inside their houses in fear.
As Luke and Cassandra were standing on the city walls, they were able to see the reason behind the sudden breathtaking noise.
The Dungeon in front of them had started to crumble down at an astonishing rate.
All the mighty walls crammed with humanoid skeletons cracked and fell like broken glasses, creating deep consequent echoing noises.
What's happening? Dungeons don't usually break like this... It should have just vanished and turned into the Mana...
Luke felt a surge of confusion and disorientation wash over him, his mind scrambling to make sense of the sudden turn of events. Instinctively, he turned to Cassandra, hoping for clarity or reassurance, only to find her expression twisted in despair, mirroring his own inner turmoil.
Shit has gone bad, I guess...
"Are you just going to stay like that? Tell me what happened," he asked in complete seriousness.
Cassandra's body shuddered, her eyes widened, and without pausing her absorption of Mana, she immediately replied, "Master, it's a dungeon break... Monsters will come out of it any moment."
Shit! I should have read some Dungeon-related books instead of fucking around all night...
"And?" he further asked.
Cassandra nodded meekly and continued to look at the crumbling dungeon. "Master, it's like this. When every dungeon appears on the mainland, Magicians have to kill its Monster leader within the week, or else the gate manifested by the Goddess of Light outside the dungeon will crumble, allowing the Monsters to swarm out to destroy everything at first sight... However, the situation at hand clearly suggests that Mistress's party has failed to eliminate the monster leader."
Goddess of light?
The-there are gods here?
No, that's not important right now!
Dungeon break, huh?
Wait... What about...
Luke's eyes widened, his body trembling momentarily as he immediately asked, "Is mother..."
"No!" she interrupted hastily. Then, she gestured toward the crumbling dungeon and added, "Mistress and her remaining party should be at the centre of the debris. Thanks to the Goddess of Light, the outside barrier naturally defends the remaining Magicians at the centre of the Dungeon."
Ah, I see... Sigh... Praise the goddess of light! Hmm? I'm being influenced!!
Luke shook his head, desperately hoping for Alicia to be safe. Even though he had only met her two or three times in this life, he found himself attached to her at some level. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he knew he would be deeply bothered and devastated if she died.
Let's not be a pessimist here... I hope she is okay...
However, just after a few seconds, multiple presences emerged from behind them, catching the attention of both Luke and Cassandra instantly.
Five Magicians flew toward them at astonishing speed. These individuals, clad in crimson defensive armour over their black guard uniforms, were members of the city guards: four males and a female. Luke could tell from a glance that they were quite old.
These Magicians landed on the city wall beside him and Cassandra. One of the four males, who appeared to be the leader, bowed instantly upon noticing Luke. His teammates followed suit, bowing their heads once they observed their captain's action.
Cassandra, who was always on guard, glanced at the green-headed leader and asked instantly, "Hemian, what are you doing here? Is the rescue team ready?"
Hemian, who looked like a retired man, nodded and answered in a deep voice, "The rescue team is ready. However, I'm here because of the Patriarch's orders. He wants you to lead the rescue team, which is us if I didn't say it first. I have become senile I suppose; forgive me, young lord, for talking too much."
What's with this guy? What a weirdo...
Luke didn't glance at them after that, merely closed his eyes and fully activated his spiritual sense, delving into the debris with a heightened perception. His spiritual sense expanded to a remarkable range of 180 meters, allowing him to scrutinize every detail clearly. This ability, originating from his spirituality, had been enhanced by his advancement to the 2nd star realm, granting him an additional 30 meters of range.
The spiritual sense was an innate ability stemming from a person's spirituality. Upon becoming a Magician and attaining higher realms, individuals could harness this sense in diverse ways, as Luke was currently demonstrating.
Initially, Hemian's attention was solely on Cassandra.
However, upon sensing Luke's spiritual sense, he was overcome with shock and horror. The reason became apparent: Luke's spiritual sense was oppressive and forceful, unlike Hemian's which flowed more gently like a stream.
Hemian: What a freak... Why are all Bloodlooms like this? I better not piss him off...
Similarly, Hemian's teammates were also struck with terror and astonishment as they observed their young lord, whose eyes had been closed for quite some time.
Hemian then shook his head and glanced at Cassandra. "So, what are your orders, leader?" he asked.
Cassandra hesitated because she was worried about Luke's safety. It didn't help one bit after knowing what he had done to her all this time. Sex, caressing, softly touching her butt and waist, she didn't know when but a sense of closeness stronger than the past 16 years was already taking shape in her body and mind, which clouded her judgement at the moment.
Luke, though still attuned to his surroundings, noticed Cassandra's hesitation. "Go," he urged, his voice firm yet filled with concern. "But ensure you return safely... and bring my mother back with you," he added, his eyes remaining closed.
Surprised and relieved, Cassandra nodded as she instantly said, "Yes, Young Master!"
Hemian, sensing Cassandra's concern, offered reassurance as they prepared to depart. "You needn't worry," he said casually. "The patriarch himself is leading the assault team. With him at the helm, not a single goblin will even reach the city gate."
Cassandra breathed a sigh of relief at Hemian's words. "What are we waiting for then? Let's move," she exclaimed, prompting the group to take flight toward the entrance gate a few hundred meters away.
As they departed, Luke opened his eyes and sighed in frustration. It appeared that his spiritual sense still fell short of reaching the centre of the crumbling Dungeon.
