For a beginner, who was practising Mana absorption for the first time, chances of success were pretty much close to zero, unless it happened to be a blessed one by Mana. Even Luke's sisters, Melissa and Serena, who were deemed as prodigy took almost a week to completely open their first Mana Star.
As for Luke, he was unaware of this fact whatsoever, and unknowingly, had already unlocked his first Mana Star on the first try!
