Rollo walked into the prison cell carrying breakfast for Annica.
He was one of the soldiers Octavianus had assigned to guard the General's prisoners. The cold northern air made him miss his hometown in the warmer south. And that put him in a bad mood in the morning.
"Hey, wake up!"
Rollo placed the tray on the floor before tapping the iron bars with his foot.
"Regional Chief Diggory said that he will pick you up today," he shouted to the girl. "So after eating, you can get ready to leave."
There was no reply from the girl inside the prison. Her back, which was curled up on the mattress, did not move at all.
"Hey, did you hear what I said?"
Rollo kicked the bars harder.
Once again there was no reply from the girl.
