Several days passed before the General finally returned to his headquarters in Savo.
Octavianus hurried to meet Daemond in his study to greet the man's return. It had been almost five days since he had seen the General. The longing he felt has accumulated like a pile of dry leaves that thickened on the forest floor during the fall season.
"General," Octavianus greeted. "Welcome back. You must be tired after the long journey from the capital."
Octavianus bowed in front of the man who was taking off his jacket.
"I thought Lord General was supposed to arrive two days ago," Okatavianus continued anxiously. "Why the delay? Did something happen on the way?"
Daemond threw his coat over the back of the chair before sitting down. He did not answer immediately. He just sighed and poured himself a glass of wine.
