Chapter 22 - Asura

Silence hung over the village. Food stalls that were usually teeming with customers now lay empty. The playful screams of children no longer echoed through the streets lined with small wooden houses that were once filled with the sounds of families getting along with their day. There was only silence. Where the village guards used to stand and bantered around was a giant, red figure, her nakedness left for all to see. Though to the onlooker, it would appear as if this was normal for such a being; like clothes were beneath an existence of such stature. This scene lacked the vulgarity that the mortal mind would usually attribute to such a sight, instead, it evoked a need to worship and serve.

Black scales began to form on the demoness' body, covering her nether regions along with parts of her inner thighs whilst also hiding away the underside of her breasts, leaving only her cleavage visible to the world. One would think that her scantily clad body would cause the loins of men and women to burn with desire, but the aura of death surrounding the demoness said otherwise. Turning her attention away from her Lord's mark, Faye once again inspected her new body, her four hands gently caressing each part of her physique, savouring the feeling of the ridges that marked her abs whilst smiling in delight at the size and definition of each of her arms. Though her body was packed with muscles, they couldn't hide how shapely her body was, it was as though it was sculpted to draw the jealousy and envy of both men and women.

Once she was finished admiring herself, Faye closed her eyes, clearing her mind of all her thoughts, allowing her to focus on the information she had received from her Lord.

Royal Asura.

That's what Faye had become.

A lust for war and blood, and the power of razing cities with nothing but their bare hands. The many-armed demons that lived and breathed battle. Asuras. It was a race of demons that perfectly aligned with Faye's new personality, she was an Asura through and through with her primal desire for blood and flesh. The Beast of Blood Madness that possessed Faye could be said to be a cheap facsimile of the Asuras, as both held authority over the same domain of power, the only difference between the two was the fact that the strength enhancement and the level of manipulation of bloodlust of the Asuras was greater. However, both held the same side-effect, with the side-effect being more dangerous for Asuras. Those whom the Beast of Blood Madness possessed were still able to differentiate ally from enemy during their beast state, this is not the case for Asuras.

This was why the population of Asuras was so low in the devil's previous world as they would tear each other apart during wars. The race responsible for the most Asura kills was the Asuras themselves, and they didn't plan to change their ways until the rise of the Sage. One of the few beings that could contend with the devil during his mortal life, the Sage was a being that held a terrifying amount of power, he represented the true potential of Asuras. And for that reason alone the war-hungry race worshiped him like a god. Asuras grew stronger with the more bloodlust they had, however, there was a limit to how strong they could get due to mental limits, the Sage didn't have these limits. In simpler terms, he could get infinitely stronger without losing his reason.

The young Asura's jaw dropped upon seeing scenes from her Lord's memories of the Sage, it was such a paradoxical sight. An ocean of dark bloodlust poured out of an Asura with a peaceful look on his face, the blood flowing through the demoness' body wanted to reach the same stage as this being. No. She wanted to go beyond that. She would surpass the Sage.

Calming her thirst for battle and blood, Faye absorbed the information regarding the Sage's training technique, this very technique prevented the extinction of the Asuras and stabilised their declining population.

Mind's Temple.

Its name was self-explanatory, the user of the technique would construct a temple in their mind. However, this temple must be constructed only using refined bloodlust. Their nine stages to the technique, with stages one to nine, involving the construction of pillars. The final stage of the Mind's Temple requires to user to link all nine pillars which will result in the formation of the temple. Although it sounded simple, many Asuras still failed to make it past stage 6, but even then the mental benefits that five pillars brought them were sufficient enough for them to be able to avoid going into their crazed states. But every Asuras' dream was to reach the tenth stage, the ability to grow infinitely stronger in battle was too good to pass up, they were creatures whose sole existence was war, how could they not grasp such an opportunity?

Deep breaths could be heard as a crazed look appeared in Faye's eyes, she now had the technique, now all she needed to do was cultivate it to the final stage. Clenching her fists, the demoness resolved herself: she wouldn't be like her fellow brethren. The Mind's Temple. She would build it and then surpass the Sage. With a goal now in mind, the Asura moved on to the next piece of information she had received about her race, now it was about the Royal prefix. What was the difference between an ordinary demon and a Royal demon?

It was quite simple actually. A Royal demon was a demon whose bloodline descended from a devil, this greatly enhanced their race-specific abilities as well as the power of their physique. Upon realising how great of a blessing her Lord had bestowed upon her, the demoness decided it was time to move. The question was, where to?

Recalling her Lord's final words, Faye stared at the village entrance from which the Warforge group entered, before turning her head towards the great forest that neighboured her village.

'Spread my name and recruit followers'

'And then conquer the world for me'

'I can trust you right?'

The Asuran blood coursing through her veins was screaming at her to rush straight to the Warforge Kingdom and lay waste to those heretics whilst her rational mind was telling her to convert those who dwell in the forest into her Lord's followers. After weighing the two options with much disgust, the Asura went with her mind, although she wanted to do nothing more than tear apart enemies and feast on their flesh, it occurred to her that there were more benefits in raising an army of followers. It was highly likely that Warforge was home to many elites, and although she had gained a great amount of power, it was not enough to take multiple high-level enemies. There was also the leader of the Warforge, Faye was sure that whoever the leader was, they were going to be a tough opponent for sure, and having backup might prove to be useful if the leader was too powerful.

Faye was ready to die for her Lord, but she knew that right now, death meant failure, her Lord had ordered her to conquer this world, and so she was not allowed to breathe her last until this order was complete.

With great force, the demoness leapt toward the forest, her powerful frame easily smashing through the wooden walls of the village. It was time to fulfil her role as an Apostle.
