Thick shrubs decorated the forest floor as the tall trees hung over them, blocking out the glaring heat from the ball of fire that burned in the sky. Various critters ran along the floor, dashing in and out of the shrubs, preventing potential predators from targeting them. A black-furred creature hopped around a dense collection of foilage, before coming to a halt, its long ears perked up, listening to its surroundings carefully. Once it had determined its location to be safe, it hopped towards a small blue stalk rooted into the ground and set its teeth upon it. The creature shared great likeness with a rabbit with the exception of the small horn that protruded from the centre of its head. It was known as a Horned Rabbit. A rather common monster species that resided mainly in forest areas, despite its cute appearance, these creatures were quite violent.
The chirping of the birds that sat up on the branches of the trees and the soft whistle of the wind brushing through the forest added to the serenity of the scene of the rabbit nibbling away. It was peaceful. Until the sound of crashing thuds shook the area, increasing in volume as whatever was creating them was coming closer. The rabbit's eyes turned red as it let out a series of annoyed foot stamps, its meal had been disturbed by whatever was approaching. A giant shadow encroached upon the rabbit, a trace of surprise in its eyes at the sudden appearance of an enemy. Before it even had the chance to set its eyes on the cause of the disruption, it felt a great force press onto its body. This was the rabbit's final sensation before it was crushed into the ground by a red foot covered in pieces of flesh. This wasn't the first life the demoness had crushed with her feet, and it wouldn't be the last either, the pleasure that the act brought was too addicting. She revelled in it.
These creatures may have thought themselves strong at some point in their lives, and now the only thing left was their flesh and blood stuck between the demoness' toes. This was the world Faye lived in. Where the strong crush the weak. What a wonderful world it was. Bringing herself out of her pleasure-induced revelry, the Asura looked with interest at the green bodies that shuffled around the verdancy of the forest, Faye could sense their impatience as they waited for her to enter their attack range. And who was she to deny them the opportunity to do so? Without a hint of hesitation, the demoness charged straight towards one of the bushes in which she had sensed a few of the ambushers.
Yelps of surprise came out of the bush as thick red gauntlets formed around Faye's hands as she clawed at the first of the ambushers. Blood and brain matter was flung everywhere as the demoness ripped apart a goblin's head with a single strike, her other arms moving to do the same with the others. Terror crept into their hearts at the sight of their comrade's corpse falling to the ground, the weapons that they used to indiscriminately cut their prey apart fell from their hands. As they were torn apart by the ruthless hands of the monster in front of them, the goblins realised that their prey felt these very emotions. It was a cruel world. One moment you were the hunter, the next you were the hunted.
With a handful of goblin flesh, Faye turned towards the next group, only to realise that they had run away after seeing the gruesome deaths of their comrades. But this didn't affect her at all. She needed them to run away. It was highly likely that these goblins were part of a tribe, and the demoness needed to recruit followers for her Lord. Although they were weak, the lustful nature and the extremely high fertility of the goblins meant that they could rapidly reproduce. And if they were given the right conditions, Faye was sure that they could produce an enormous army that she could use to overwhelm the Warforge Kingdom. And so, the young Asura gave chase making sure to not get too close to the goblins, which to be honest was quite difficult. She was still struggling to get used to the strength that her body now possessed, but Faye was sure with time and battle, these problems would be gone.
Soon a clearing came into view as well as walls composed of sharpened wooden sticks, prompting a thoughtful look on the demoness' face. The ambushers had already scampered into their camp, screaming warnings of the calamity that was racing towards their home, resulting in the goblins who manned the walls to heighten their awareness of their surroundings. Each of these goblins held a bow in their hands, but upon receiving the warnings, they each had nocked an arrow into their bows, their callused fingers ready to let go of their bowstrings at the slightest of movements. Faye had long noticed the archers, right now, she was trying to recall the feeling of when she first used the flying claw mark attack. She had instinctively used the technique whilst she was in her crazed state, all the demoness had to was recreate that moment, except without her mind overwhelmed with bloodlust.
The air around her changed as memories of that euphoric moment played in her mind in slow motion, her cells rejoiced in pleasure as the image of the giant Knight's quadrisected corpse popped into her mind. Deep within all the bloodthirstiness and pleasure, there was another feeling, constantly eluding the demoness' attempts to grasp onto it. But the intense desire to release that attack once again fueled her with great fervour, there was only so long this feeling could escape from her. Within a few moments, everything clicked in her mind as the elusive feeling of control made itself known to her, granting her a small amount of enlightenment regarding the manipulation of bloodlust.
She was an Asura. As an Asura she was granted authority over bloodlust, meaning that it would do whatever she willed it to do. Since she had only recently gained access to bloodlust manipulation, Faye required a decent level of concentration to channel the red aura into the tips of the clawed gauntlet that had formed around her hand, unlike the first time where she had used it, the Asura made sure to use a significantly lower amount of bloodlust into the attack. With everything set, the demoness swiped at the air, the very fabric of space appearing to tear under her claws. A claw mark, much smaller in size than the one that killed Captain Edin, sailed through the air at a rapid pace leaving Faye watching with bated breath. Unfortunately, although she had managed to successfully recreate the attack, the Asura had missed her target, alerting the goblin archers to her presence.
About eight goblins were manning the weak-looking walls, and now seven arrows pierced towards Faye's location, the eighth archer was currently sprawled on the floor, recovering from his near miss with death. Although the demoness had missed her mark, it had not been by much, the goblin's missing ear was a testament to this. To an ordinary person, the barrage of arrows would have spelt their end, but Faye was no longer ordinary. With great speed, she charged out of the tree line as her fingertips began to glow with red light, she was going to use the flying claw mark again, but this time she wasn't going to miss. The demoness sent the attack to the goblins towards the left side of the wall whilst she pounced the goblins on the right side.
Staring down at their chests, two goblins could only look in horror as two fists pierced through each of their small bodies. The arms began to pull towards opposite directions, you didn't need to be a genius to work out what was going to happen. The two goblins were ripped into two. Guts began to spill out of the different halves however before they could even touch the ground, the corpses were flung into the air as demoness moved towards the terror-stricken archers that remained.
She still planned to convert this camp into followers of her Lord, but for now, it wouldn't hurt to indulge in her Asuran desires a little.
