The carriage had never driven so fast. She kept knocking the adjoining window and asking the coachman to increase the speed. She didn't wait for the maids or coachmen to open the door or adjust the ladder for her. She was real! She was the princess! This place was hers! The words rang in her mind like a magic spell.Â
She jumped from the carriage and ran toward the building. Laughing like fools and giggling at maids.Â
The maids looked at her surprised. They were told that Abi was not going to return that night. But she was there in a few hours, and she looked shocked or thrilled. They did not understand.
But she did not walk like the baroness had taught her, she ran and slid and walked while bending her feet a few times. But there was no embarrassment on her face.
She looked so thrilled.
