Chereads / MARRIED TO THE NIGHT KING / Chapter 22 - 21 Reunion

Chapter 22 - 21 Reunion

Helel walked down the cold streets again, this this the smile he had on his face before was gone and pure anger was evident on his face. With the street now getting empty, he felt the pain of lies and a little of pain or even much of it, he walked as darkness swallowed him whole, this time no passerbys came around and the skies had heavy clouds.

He sat down on the wooden bench located at the side of the road, it had started to shower on him and he didn't mind. Getting wet was the least of his problems, he sat there for a while as the rain started getting heavy and windy. His hair stuck on his face and his whole dress wet, after a lot of thinking he got up and walked back home. When ever he was angry he left home and only came back when he was okay and ready to listen to the other side's view, he could feel the eyes of the neighbors on him, they looked at him through their windows and he didn't look at them, he could even hear their whispers..... thinking he was mad to walk in the cold rain and others thought he was homeless or an orphan which made him chuckle, if they only knew who he really was!

Upon reaching the entrance of their house, the strong scent of fresh blood hit his nose and he frowned when he hear a soft whimper, he could detect that his mother was not in the house. Her scent had always filled the house, now the scent of bloody wounds filled his nose even more and he pushed the door open, he rushed inside only to find his grandmother lying on the cold floor in her own blood. Helel rushed to her and helped her in a sitting position, she coughed out blood and her heart rate only dropped even more, lady Norma tried to say something but more blood spilled from her mouth. " Y- y- your... mother, the king- she's argh!" She tried to say something but Helel had placed his hand on her opened stomach, his hand glowed and he tried to concentrate on healing the woman. He had learned this from the council, they had taught him a little things, he shivered and he couldn't stop his tears from rolling down his face. He was able to close a little of the wound and blood dropped from his nose, he cried out when he knew it was already late to save her....

" Please, grandmother...hang on!" He said when an idea came in mind. He carried her on his back and she cried out of pain, Helel took her through the cold streets and she hanged on a little more. Blood staining the wet road with no one to help, he took the road to the town's physician home. As he ran through the rain, lady Norma spoke, "I- I had a son, you know?....he was just your age when he died along with his father" she tried to talk normally yet Helel knew she was still bleeding and in much pain, " please keep quiet, you will bleed more!" The boy shouted for her to hear. She hummed softly and groaned at his back, " the king is not to blame, r- remember that...it hurts to not see those beautiful eyes of yours again, you must be healthy and strong and even more powerful, always listen to your mother boy and don't kill your heart like those good for nothing demons-" her words cut short with Helel's voice, " what are you saying, we are almost there" he said hurriedly and his breathing shook, he was starting to fill cold even though that was not supposed to happen. She kissed his cheek and whispered something into his ear, he stopped in his trucks when her head dropped on his shoulder and her hands also behind him and he heard her last breath with her chest dropping completely and her heart freezing. He closed his eyes and stayed that way for some minutes, warm tears drove down before he opened his eyes and continued his journey...

As late the night was with the rain still heavy, the clanking of mental could be heard in the most quiet place in realm. Helel dug a limit he thought was six feet and dropped a wooden coffin in it, he stared at the face of lady Norma who was now pale and cold. She was always warm, he thought and sniffed and jumped down the dug hole, he opened the coffin and laid his grandmother inside. " I will come back for you!" He said softly before climbing out of the muddy hole and covered the whole thing. He turned around and stared at the hill part of the kingdom were bright golden lights could seen, he had such clear eye sight and could see even from where he stood. He was no where close to the town or the huge building he was seeing, he had heard that was the castle! Anger bubbled in his chest and his feet took him straight ahead of him. Helel walked up the hill and as he expected, no one travelled his way and he moved on, his hair dripping wet and his clothes covered in brown mud, occasionally getting washed and his feet bringing the same thing on his clothing and he didn't mind. With only the sound of the heavy rain, his foot steps could not be heard by a normal human but his ears picked up every sound and movement in the woods which he presumed it were animals.

Upon reaching the entrance of the palace, he could sense the low heart beat of the guards at the huge gold and black iron gates, he chuckled when they didn't make any attempts to stop him or fight him. He was sure he could take all of them in one go because he didn't sense any strong presence around them, he stood at the gates without raising his head. " Off you go! Boy.....go back to your mother's arms!" One said out loud when they noticed him standing there. Helel heard them loud and clear yet he didn't move a bone of his, the second guard striked the gates with the hilt of his sword. " Leave at once!" He said and glared down at him, Helel moved backwards a bit and took in a deep breath before he pushed the gates open with a strong force. The guards fell off at the force and this sent an alarm to the rest of the guards, they came to the gates in their numbers with each drawing out their swords. " W- who the hell are you and what do you want!" The commander shouted when he got there and Helel walked into the compound of the palace, he raised his finger and said, " your king! I want your king!!" He screamed at them his voice vibrating the grounds,

The commander frowned at him and a maniac laughter exploded in the rain. " Get it that you are strong, way too strong for a boy but..... you want to see the king? You think the king sees who wants to see him!" The commander asked, his red eyes held disbelief and annoyance. Helel tried to control his anger and walked forward as if he didn't hear what the man said, they blocked him with their swords and the boy glared at them then the mana he was suppressing burst out. Most of the guards catching fire, Helel landed on the floor his eyes turned pitch black and his shirt had burn by the fire that came from within him with his pants dried up, the force pushed him to a standing position and went at anyone who held a weapon. His mana had sensed danger and he couldn't control it as usual, far away from the compound a dark figure walked from the corridor his presence being a threat for all, he cast a binding spell on the raging boy and Helel landed on the ground of the compound and groaned out of pain. His mana tried to fight the new force and it brought pain to both when it noticed familiarity, " your majesty!" The commander exclaimed and all bowed their heads deeply. The king wiped his bleeding nose with the back of his hand, his dark red eyes narrowed at the boy. " At ease!" He ordered and all raised their heads not high to even have a glimpse of the king," your majesty, this fellow here caused trouble, we will take him to the dungeon-" his eyes widened when he heard the king repeat himself again, " that won't be necessary, he comes with me!" He said his eyes fixed on the unconscious boy.

" I think I know our child, a boy..... he's fierce" the king said as he stared at the back side of Esther, she turned to look at him with a deep frown on her face. " What! Where is my son, what did you do to him?" She asked him with wild eyes and this brought a big smile on the king's face, he missed this.....those wild green eyes and their son kind of took his sharpness from her.
