"But why does Razor want you to return so soon?" Mom asked as she helped me zip up my box. "You can go in the afternoon or evening."
"I'm sure he has his reasons, hun," Dad chimed in from across the room, standing by the door. "Are you done, Isabella?" I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. My dad will never not defend his precious alpha, Razor.
"All set," I straightened up, taking the box from my mom. "I have to go now."
They followed me outside, where Chris was already waiting by the car, looking at his watch wearily. I could tell he was anxious; I mean, I was too. Razor's warning about punctuality was crystal clear.
I handed the box to Chris, who hurriedly took it from me before I turned to face my dad. "I don't have any cash here with me. Can you lend me some? I need to get a new phone."
