I scanned the training ground, my eyes searched for Cain, but he was nowhere to be found. Two days ago, we had spoken on the phone, and I learned that he was being punished in Razor's dungeon. The guilt weighed heavily on me; I was fucking responsible for him losing two of his fingers.
"Luna, you're still here," Dean's voice interrupted my thoughts as he handed me a bottle of chilled water. "I thought you had already left."
I accepted the bottle, forcing a smile. "Yeah, just wanted to take a look around before heading back to the penthouse."
That was a lie, of course. I wanted to speak to Cain, but Dean had been hovering around me like a damn watchdog. Razor had also replaced my trainer with a lady, and although she was nice, I missed Cain's training.
"You're not looking for Cain, are you?" Dean's brow raised in suspicion, and I chuckled dryly.
"Of course not, I'm not that foolish."
