Chapter 12 - Escaping from him

"Amira...."! Miranda sighed when she didn't see anyone behind her.

She shrugged it off and proceeded to the dining room.

She walked to the long table together with the other girls and found a sit for herself.

Everyone was at their best behaviour. Although the wanted to gossip so much, the had the self awareness that they would be meeting the Devíl so no one dared to misbehave.

The light clicking of shoes on the marble floor drew everyone's attention to the door. Gasps filled the room as Lucifer made his was to the dining hall.

His eyes moved around the dining table, unfortunately he didn't see who he was expecting.

A frown rested on his forehead. He turned to Madam Harley who was closest to him and asked in a chilly voice.

"Where is Amira"?

"Erm.. she.. she ... I don't know Lucifer". Madam Harley gritted her teeth and answered. She swore to deal with Amira whenever she saw her.

Lucifer turned on his heels and walked out.

When she got to the garden close to the woods, her eyes fell on the familiar angelic face.

"Zamael..." She called out excitedly.

Zamael smiled sweetly.

"Amira how are you doing"?

Amira felt her face burning. That question made her stomach full of butterfly.

She bent her head shyly and smiled bashfully. "I'm fine Zamael"..

Zamael raised his hand to her face. He rubbed it slowly, making Amira flinch. He held her still and pulled her closer to him.

All their interaction did not escape Lucifer as he stood at a corner watching everything.

His eyes blazed with anger.

"Er.. Zamael.." Amira called out.

"Shh... Stay quite".. Zamael spoke in a light voice and then.....

♡♡♡♡

Mira stood up immediately the man left. Unlike others who were gawking, all her focus was in his words... He was searching for Amira.

She quickly ran to Devlin who stood not quite far from the door.

"Please tell me that is not the Devil"! Mira held Devlin's arms tightly.

Devlin's eyebrows tightened. He just found out now that this little witchy's grip was really strong.

He felt harassed!

"Can we talk outside little.. I mean Miranda"?. Devlin pulled Miranda's hand and dragged her out.

The girls in the hall where in an uproar. They where all talking about the 'handsome devil '.

Vienna sat down quietly and ate her food unperturbed. In her head, she replayed the scene of Lucifer asking about Amira.

She took in the weird gaze of the people around her and a mocking smile appeared on her lips.

Maybe they thought she had been dumped.

"What's the problem? Why does he look like he would kìll her on sight? Mira asked in worry.

Devlin rubbed his nose in irritation.

"Well Amira seems to be purposely avoiding him and it makes him furious"

"So that's really the Devil then". Mira gasped in horror. What had my friend gotten into? She screamed mentally.

"Yes its really him. In flesh and blood ". Devlin answered.

"Don't worry little witchy... I'm sure he won't really hurt her.. we'll maybe he will but he won't kíll her". Devlin patted her head as he spoke.

Mira have him a fake smile and slapped his hand away. " Thanks that's so reassuring ". She said sarcastically and walked back to the hall.

Devlin's eyes followed her every movement intensely. ...

Lucifer glanced at Zamael, and shot him a provocative smile.

He looked neither jealous nor ângry. Just like he said, things would go his own way henceforth.

"Amira..." Lucifer called out in a calm voice. It portrayed neither anger nor impatience..

But Amira knew better. During this short time she had met him, she had become accustomed to his behaviour.

Sensing her fears, Zamael tightened his grip on her.

"One of the things the Devil derive pleasure from is fear. You shouldn't give him such pleasure". He whispered in her ears.

'If only he can take the pleasure then leave me alone'. Amira whispered in her heart.

If she said she wasn't afraid of that guy, then she really deserves to stay in hell!

'Are you expecting a second calling sweetheart'? Lucifer's voice rang in her head, making her jump in fright.

"No... definitely not "! Amira answered swiftly, and moved away from Zamael.

Zamael stared at her with understanding. "I hope we'll meet again Amira. I enjoyed my time with you ". He said in his usual calm voice.

Lucifer chuckled behind them and disappeared after giving Zamael a look.

Amira looked around her and sighed in relief.

"The heavens really smile on beautiful faces".

She rushed to the kitchen as she didn't have the guts to go to the dinner table by this time.

In his throne room in the castle, Lucifer stood with his hands entwined behind him.

"Why are you here Zamael"?

"The last time I checked you where the one that wanted me to come to your throne hall". Zamael said casually.

"Don't play with me angel. I don't have the patience ". Lucifer warned.

Zamael chuckled.

"I'm just a guest doing my own thing here. You don't have to be bothered about me".

"I think you should learn to maintain boundaries. You can be mistaken as one of us if you become too frequent". Lucifer said calmly, and watched as Zamael left.

His brows knitted. Amira can't just be the reason why he comes here. What was his reason?

Speaking of Amira, Lucifer's face hardened. The nerve of her to run away from him!

He left his castle and appeared in the garden where the sneaky little thief was munching on a boiled potato.

He paused in his step and his eyes focused intensely on her bulging cheeks that were bloated from too much food.

The way she devoured the potato made his eyes turn cloudy. For some reason, he imagined himself replacing the potato.

His lips formed into a smirk and he licked his fangs.
