Chapter 14 - /14/ The training?

She woke up as usual with her husband beside her, but he hadn't woken up yet. She stared at him for a few minutes, from his long blonde hair to his jawline and to down his neck.

But she paused and told herself to snap out of it, for some reason his body attracted her just like Damien's, she always wondered why he looked so muscular despite being from a poor home and working as a brick layer before being forced into war.

As Sania continued to stare at him, she remembered how he got angry with her the previous night and she was immediately guilt-tripped.

"He is trying so hard," she mumbled with a smile, but a knock on the door disrupted her thought. It was the servant with their morning tea.

"I'm coming," she said in a low tone to avoid waking Taffi and stood up to unlock the door.

Today it was her handmaid who brought the tea, so according to Taffi she was allowed to drink if she wanted.

"Thank you," she uttered after her handmaid placed the tray of tea on the table, took a bow, and walked out of the room.

Sania took her seat on the edge of the bed again and stared at the cup of tea, judging by the color of hers, she knew it was ginger. But she was also curious to know what Taffi's tea tasted like.

She turned around briskly and stared at him for a few seconds, and then she slowly took out some tea in a spoon from Taffi's cup and stole a glance at him again before drinking it.

She squinted her eyes, the tea was a lot bitter than she thought,

"He was truly going to make me drink this yesterday?" She mumbled and used her tea to get rid of the bitter taste in her mouth.

She stood up from the bed after a few sips and walked towards the window like she had seen him do the previous morning.

Sania contemplated for a while, she believed that opening the curtains might wake him up due to the reflection from the sunlight. And she wasn't ready to face him yet after his anger the previous night.

She stood there clueless for a while and turned around immediately, she saw that Taffi now faced the opposite direction without her knowing it.

"I'll just leave the curtain," she concluded in a low tone and walked back to the bed, but as soon as she got on it, Taffi said,

"You should have opened the curtains, else I'll lay down here all morning and we'll miss your training."

"Training?" Sania uttered briskly,

"What training?" She asked him and Taffi did not reply immediately. He just heaved a sigh, yawned, and rolled over like a bean bag.

"I don't know, you'll see," he answered and Sania couldn't help but wonder what it was. She didn't expect him to be so happy and casual with her the next morning after being so upset last night.

"Your tea," she offered it to him in bed, carrying the cup in a little plate, and the spoon.

"You didn't like the taste right? By the way, this is not the tea I offered you yesterday, this is far worse than that one." He said and Sania was dumbstruck.

"How did he know that I took a sip? Was he pretending to be asleep ?" She asked herself and a frown came upon her face. She didn't find it amusing or impressive that he did, rather it made her unhappy that he was spying on her even when they were together.

"What?" Taffi asked when he noticed her expression.

"Nothing," she retorted,

"Your tea?" She passed it to him, but Taffi did not collect it from her immediately.

"Stir it for me, please," he pleaded like a child unable to do anything for himself.

Sania couldn't believe she was obeying him, as if there was something within her that made her listen against her wishes, or perhaps it was just her being nice to him effortlessly because she felt bad for making him upset.

While she gently stirred the tea, Taffi sat up and rested his back on the bed frame, he enjoyed watching her do as he instructed.

"Done," Sania mumbled and handed the cup over to him which he took from her without hesitation.

"You should also have your tea, we will go for your training before you take a morning bath," he added and brought back to the topic of training.

"Can you tell me what it is at least?" Sania asked she hated being left in the dark, and it appeared that it was the only trick that Taffi used to get her to speak to him.

"Take your tea first, don't be in such a hurry, you may or may not like it. I just want to use it as an opportunity to take you around the village for a while, and then to my favorite spot in the kingdom and back before noon." Taffi sipped from his cup and stared at Sania's face with a smile, he couldn't believe how quickly he got over her attitude and still hoped that she'd adjust as time went by.

"Alright," Sania got down from the bed, she picked up her tea and slowly began to sip from the cup, each taste was refreshing and she couldn't help but wonder how it was made.

Once they were done taking the tea in silence, Sania cleaned her teeth and changed into some clothes that she believed would be comfortable for whatever training she was headed for.

Taffi also got ready and led her out of the room towards the back of the castle, Sania's mind was occupied with thoughts of what it could be, she always wanted to know what it'd feel like to hold a sword and fight with an opponent,

"Could that be the training?" She wondered and continued to follow him from behind until they got to the back of the castle, and what Sania saw next left her speechless.
