Writer's note - Answering questions and concerns for first time readers.
Why rewrite a niche erotic manga from scratch and illustrate it? This is weird and there is no point in doing so?
Ever finish reading a manga and realise how bad it was, only to think of the potential it had and do nothing about it? That was my experience with "Akame Ga Kill! Zero". I felt that this piece of work had the biggest untapped potential I had seen in a manga. The title alone sounded really promising only to be a gross story that forces Akame's face and Nhentai Doujin like material until our faces. "Akame Ga Kill!" is something most of us don't associate with erotic material.
I ultimately decided that I was going to rewrite it—if nobody is doing it, then it's my problem to do so.
I may not be a certified writer that is affiliated with Takahiro and Minato Soft or even Square Enix (publishers of AGK manga, believe it or not.) but I can try to make a difference by contributing to the fanon side of AGK.
Besides since AGK Zero is niche, only having around less than 20 pieces in writing sites at the time I wrote this, it would be more highlighted and easier to find. Only problem is that I expect this story to not have a lot of views because AGK Zero is a niche story but a good story prioritises quality over numbers and that is what the new Akame Ga Kill Zero is about. I am committed to creating an alternate version of "Akame Ga Kill! Zero" that is beyond fanservice and poor writing, something that Takahiro could've written if he actually cared more about AGK. Maybe I am at fault here for calling this a "rewrite", it's more of a reimagining but rewrite sounds a hundred times better.
Wasn't Akame supposed to be the protagonist, also Why is Guy replaced?
Akame Ga Kill! is a series that I believe with only work best with a male lead, even though it was named after Akame. In many prequel titles, many with the "Zero" in the ending, you notice a new protagonist that doesn't usually appear in the mainline story. I feel like this is what Akame Ga Kill! Zero is missing the most. I feel like having Akame as the main protagonist feels more forced and makes me hate her even more.
Now you are probably thinking that a new MC defeats the purpose of AGK! Zero since its literally about Akame's past and how she joined Night Raid. If you look into the mainline story, it's about how Akame fought against the empire but we see it in Tatsumi's point of view. The logic is that Akame Ga Kill! is a series that would work best with a male lead with Akame by his side. It may sound disappointing that Akame doesn't have her time to shine but you can just read the original AGK! Zero.
Now, speaking about MC, unlike all other MCs, firstly Yashirou was not made as a self insert to kiss Akame in the lips. Hence, why he was given his own Shingu and doesn't replace Tsukushi and rather replaces Guy (who is still canon to this story).
Yashirou is a protagonist for the sake of being a protagonist, not a love interest to Akame.
In this version of Akame Ga Kill! Zero, I sought for the male cast in the Elite Seven (besides their "father") to follow the same character formula as the Jaegers (Yas = Wav, Naj = Run, Gre = Sty, ??? = Bols) rather than Night Raid's own formula (Naj = Tat, Lub = Gre, Guy = Bul).
This means a new character that is parallel to Bols but distinct enough will debut and join the Elite Seven by chapters 4-6. Guy is now pushed to Rank. 9 (That means Natala is Rank. 10 and Gin to Rank. 12) for your information. The Elite Seven will be the only group to be heavily changed.
When it's time to write about Night Raid and the Jaegers, their members will remain the same and unchanged.
If original content feels out of place and ruins the story, just remember this web novel acts as a "Fate/Apocrypha" timeline situation to Akame Ga Kill!'s own established manga timeline.
Same world, Same rules but different outcomes, characters and IFs.
