Chapter 8 - Morgana Says Get A Life

Betty held out the phone to Dana, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. "Here," she said in a shy voice. "Your phone. Sorry about the notifications. I might have seen some mistakenly."

Both Vance and the elegant woman looked at Betty curiously, wondering why she had blushed.

Dana accepted the phone with a roll of her eyes. 'Was that really necessary?' Vance thought, feeling a little put off by the way Betty had behaved. It was almost as if she were flirting with him. He couldn't help but wonder if the nurse was gay. "Humph!" Dana huffed under her breath.

Vance looked at the notifications on the phone screen and noticed that there were a quite a few messages. Since he was seeing them through Dana's eyes, Vance saw everything Dana would see.

One message caught his attention - it was from Dana's best friend. It read, 'I'm sending my mom over to check on you.'

Dana glanced at the message, muttering under her breath, "So, this body has a best friend with a hot mom, huh?" She noticed that the contact was saved as Bestie with two pink heart emojis beside it. She wondered aloud, "I wonder how this "bestie" looks, if her mom is so attractive."

Dana scrolled up to the next message, this time from a contact saved as Funny Kenny, with six laughing emojis after the name. Vance wondered if this Kenny was a friend of Dana's or someone else.

Dana raised her eyebrows, muttering to herself, "This body's owner sure does like emojis, doesn't she?"

She looked at the message from Funny Kenny and read it out loud. "I hope you're feeling better now. Call or text me if you need anything." She noticed the message was sent a few hours ago, and had a question mark emoji at the end.

"Hmmm," Dana shook her head as she sighed. "She had all these people in her life who care about her, and yet she chose to take her own life over some silly ambition. What a foolish girl."

Dana clenched her teeth, forcing herself to keep her voice low so that no one would hear her.

The rest of the notifications were from an app, Snapchat, and it seemed... 'Hey, what's happening here?' Vance thought arrogantly. What he was seeing on the screen was giving him a bad feeling.

"Don't tell me this body's owner is a fan of that fart face!" Her voice was louder than she intended, and Betty and the older woman turned to look at her.

Dana's eyebrows were raised in a mix of annoyance and exasperation. 'Not just a fan,' Vance thought inwardly. 'She's the owner of his fan club on Instagram.' Dana rolled his eyes.

Dana Morgan, it turned out, was secretly known as Morgana, one of the co-founders of DGFG (short for Dorian Gray's Fan Girls), a group that was popular on all social media platforms.

However, Morgana's direct line of communication was through Snapchat, where fans could reach out to her and make requests of Dorian's available infos.

No one knew about this secret identity, except for her best friend and Funny Kenny. In fact, if Vance had paid close attention while the system was showing him all of Dana's life, he would have discovered this secret. But he'd been skimming through the information, and so he'd missed this crucial detail.

"Humph!" Dana sighed angrily, then opened the post with the most recent comments. It was a picture of a man's back in a crowded space, posted by Morgana with the caption, 'In all my life, I would be your girl.'

"Hah!" Dana let out a frustrated laugh. The picture was definitely of Dorian Gray's back. "That jerk!" she said out loud, stomping her foot in frustration.

'How can she be so obsessed with him to this extent?' Vance couldn't believe how infatuated Dana seemed to be with the man he hated the most.

Actually, Vance had never seen how Dorian Gray looked before, either in his past life or in this one.

It was Dorian who had kept him from rising to fame in the entertainment industry. Because of Dorian's meddling, Vance had missed a golden opportunity. Despite their conflict, he had never actually seen what Dorian looked like.

"That fool!" Dana cursed and then scoffed. "What a lame caption!"she said, rolling her eyes. 'In all your life? Yeah, right! Well not in this one!' Vance thought to himself. He didn't dare say that out loud, though - he didn't want to raise any suspicion.

Dana quickly scrolled through the app, looking for the delete button. When she found it, she pressed it and deleted the post.

"There!" she breathed a sigh of relief. But then, another post popped up - the same photo of Dorian's back but with a different caption. "What the…?" Dana frowned.

Meanwhile, the comments on the photo poured in, it was clear that Dorian had many fans. Most of the comments praised him, saying how much they loved Dorian and how they all wanted to see him.

Only a few mentioned Morgana, praising her for managing to get such a rare photo. After all, it was notoriously difficult to find even a picture of Dorian's shoes online - he was famous for taking down any photos of himself as soon as they were posted.

But it was worth questioning that Morgana's pictures of him stayed so long. Well, no one wondered that because they were busy admiring their Dorian Gray.

As Vance watched the comments rolling in, he grew increasingly irked. Finally, he decided to take action. With determined fingers, he typed furiously on the phone, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Both Betty and the woman sitting in the waiting room looked at him curiously, wondering what was going on. It seemed to them like Dana was simply venting her frustration by cursing and then, replying to someone. Betty and the woman exchanged a look, wondering who she was talking to.

Dana put the phone back in her bag and said, "Done!" triumphantly. Without another word, she climbed into the van and sat down. There was a mischievous look on her face, and neither Betty nor the woman could guess what she was thinking.

The older lady who had been watching all these unfold rolled her eyes as she watched Dana climb into the van. "Idiot," she muttered under her breath. Then, she turned to Betty, the nurse, and flashed a knowingly fake smile.

"G-good day, Ma'am Keith. Would you…" She trailed off, bowing her head respectfully and clasping her hands together. But the woman held up a hand, stopping Betty mid-sentence. "You don't need to say anything else."

"I'll be transferring the money to your boss tonight," the woman said, then climbed into the van. The van pulled away, leaving the hospital grounds and entering the busy city streets. Betty watched it go, a frown on her face.

Betty then let out a deep sigh. "I wanted to tell her that Mr. Hendrick had already paid the bills," she said to herself. "But I guess the rich don't care about such things. They're so different."

Then, she shook her head in resignation. "At least I got to meet the mysterious Morgana today," she thought, a smile playing at her lips.

Betty's face lit up with glee. "A-ha!" she squealed, clapping her hands together. "That means Morgana must be close to DG. And I'm not surprised. First, Mr. Hendrick came by. Then, Madam Keith arrived. Now, this…" She threw her hands up in the air in triumph, her smile wide. 'I'm so glad I snagged Morgana's phone number without her noticing. Score!' she thought.

Deciding to head back to work, Betty turned around and walked back into the hospital building. As soon as she stepped into the elevator, her phone buzzed with a notification. She looked at the screen curiously. "Hmm?" she muttered.

Taking out her phone from the pocket of her nurse uniform, she unlocked it only to see something terribly shocking.

A new post from Morgana popped up on Snapchat. The picture was of a hand, the middle finger held defiantly in the air. Below it, the caption read, 'Y'all fans of that frog face need to get a life!' in bold, capital letters.

Betty: "...."
