Johanna and the female adventurer were already far beyond the city walls and didn't expect anything to happen to them anymore, but Johanna did notice that the connections between her, Alex and Yusuf was indeed cut off a while ago. Johanna turned around to look back at the city, where she spotted Wu on the city wall, staring at them.
"We have to hurry up! Wu is already behind us."
"Yeah, I know. I could feel a strong presence behind us for a few seconds now and was wondering what it was."
"So Alex and Yusuf are probably dead by now; I had hoped that they could rescue my son."
The two of them ran at full speed, and even though Johanna was still exhausted from her birth and the running, her body was in a way better overall condition since she had gained the strength of the three adventurers. The two of them dashed into the forest that was located near the city to make them loose Wu since he couldn't keep tracking them in the denser parts of the forest.
"Let's split up in the forest. I can always find you with my abilities, and he would probably return if we split up since he can't chase us like that."
"I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but I don't have a better plan, so it will hopefully work out."
Once they got into the forest, they split up; they were still running in the same direction but with a 90-degree angle between them. They quickly separated, and after only a few seconds, Johanna was alone with her thoughts about her missing son and the two dead men who sacrificed themselves for her. Johanna couldn't stop worrying about her son, and she was also very scared of Guild Master Wu, who killed the two men, who were also much stronger than her, in an instant. Meanwhile, the female adventurer was hoping that Wu would follow her instead since she couldn't let her master die this pitful. She knew that Wu hated betrayal more than anything, but only if it was him on the receiving end. But she wasn't sure if that was more important to him than the woman who made him kill his disciples and his client.
Wu, on the other hand, was just observing them from the city walls since he knew that the two of them had no real chance of escaping or even harming him, but he had to make sure that there were no traps set up to kill him since he is a very cautious man. Wu was just about to take off to follow the two of them until he sensed something dangerous approaching the carriage where the sleeping Frank and the baby were currently in, so he had to change his plans again, dashing around the city on the wall and arriving back at the carriage in mere seconds just to find a small group of goblins attacking the carriage. He swiftly rushed back to the scene, but he was sure that the two hadn't set up any traps, so he would kill them instantly.
Johanna opened her eyes but couldn't see a thing since it was dark all around her, even though the night just started at the beginning of their escape. She noticed that there was a fear setting in since she feared that she was dead and now in a completely dark room. But to her luck, she heard a voice calling her out, or that's what she thought since it was in a weird language. After listening to it for a while, she recognised that it was the goblin tongue. She tried to talk to the goblin in its language, and after a while, she got into it again.
"Why did you rescue me?"
"To fuck you of course."
"What?"
"I'm just kidding; it was the order of your son Noah; he planned a whole rescue mission, and we planned to dig this tunnel all the way to your prison cell, but it makes sense that the boss's mother would plan her own escape."
"Hold on, what about the other woman?"
"I don't know about her, but she's probably still running, or she got captured by other goblins."
"Captured ?"
"Well, of course we use this tunnel system to catch women."
Johanna sighs and responds to him:
"Of course you do."
"Well, how about you follow me, and we can talk about her later?"
"Ok, I will follow you."
Wu returned to the city walls just to notice that both of the women turned into thin air, even though he was gone only for a few seconds. He was able to watch them run even through the dense forest, so he was very confused about how this all happened, but his biggest problem now was what he should do for now, so he quickly decided to tell Frank that he killed them both since they could not do any harm to them in their new home and the chance of them being a serious threat to him was exceptionally small.
