But Wuxie was already stepping towards the left path, his curiosity overpowering his fear. "I have to see what's there," he muttered, more to himself than to Wovi.
"Wuxie, please!" Wovi pleaded, fluttering desperately around him. "Don't do this. Stick with the group!"
But Wuxie shook his head, his mind made up. "I'm sorry, Wovi," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I have to follow this feeling."
With that, Wuxie bid farewell to Leoren and the other cultivators, ignoring their protests and pleas to reconsider.
He turned towards the left path, the darkness swallowing him whole as he ventured deeper into the unknown.
As Wuxie walked, the darkness seemed to press in on him from all sides, suffocating and oppressive. He could feel the weight of his decision bearing down on him, the sense of isolation growing with each step.
"I must be crazy," Wuxie muttered to himself, his voice echoing through the empty corridor.
