Chapter 6 - THE PERFECT CLASS

"Why did you survive? You should have never been born," said a soft and gentle woman's voice, almost like a whisper, in Airen's ear. His eyes opened to a white ceiling, his face covered with sweat, and his breathing irregular. Airen pondered why he had survived that night; if only he had died, all the pain would vanish. But returning to reality, he got up from his bed, went to freshen himself up, and picked out a tracksuit before heading out for a jog.

The dawn had started to break as Airen stopped after completing 18 rounds around the hostel building, which consisted of 8 buildings, each with 10 floors and a garden at the front. Airen took a small blade from his pocket and cut across his palm. The blood that flowed out began to defy gravity, forming floating drops. Airen seemed to be in full control of this ability, which was both unhygienic and terrifying, this being one of the reasons why Airen was feared by his peers.

Airen not content with just making the drops float, Airen transformed them into sharpened bullets, placing one in front of his fingertip. Airen gestured with his finger, forming a flick, then concentrated and focused all his strength before releasing it towards the garden. The bullet pierced through three trees before splashing onto the ground, leaving behind holes the size of small pebbles. Airen thought to himself that if he had to confront those bastards, he needed to become even more powerful.

.

Airen returned to his room at 7 o'clock and bumped into his neighbor, a boy with a small build and a bald head adorned with a tattoo of a cross under his eye. Airen sincerely apologized, and the boy, looking at him, asked, "Are you the new kid?" Airen responded with a yes and introduced himself as "Airen Altrof, a first-year." The boy, named Deren Anderson, looked at him and said, "It's nice to meet you. If you ever need help, don't be afraid to ask." Airen thanked him, shook his hand, and then returned to his room.

Airen jumped into his shower, pondering and hypothesizing new ways to make his ability to control his blood even more dangerous. After brushing his teeth and fixing his hair, he continued to wear one of the three uniforms he had in his closet. Airen took out his ID card and placed his thumb on it to turn it on. The card showed a notification, and when Airen clicked it, a class timetable appeared, with classes starting from 8:15.

As soon as the clock hit 7:30, there was a bell on the door. Airen opened the door to see a rectangular metal case similar to the ones he had seen before. Airen noticed a tray on top of it, took it, and opened the upper component to reveal his breakfast: four pieces of bread, a cube of butter and jam, as well as a bottle of water. Airen quickly ate it as he had forgotten to eat dinner the night before.

Airen looked toward the card, and a map appeared on it. Airen was surprised at the level of detail being taken care of. He took his coat and exited the door, finding it automatically locked behind him. Airen left, wondering where the rest of the students were. He had only met one of his floor mates. Airen left the building and started to follow the map on his ID.

Airen begins to see a lot of students in front of a big building with its imposing architecture and timeless charm. The exterior boasts intricate brickwork, towering columns, and large windows adorned with ornate wooden frames. A weathered clock tower, standing tall and resolute, marks the center of the campus, its chimes echoing through the corridors. Airen follows his map to enter a classroom on the first floor. Catching his breath, he enters the class, but as soon as he does, he is met with a knife.

"What… the…" he dodges it by moving to the left side, catching the eyes of the one who threw the knife. Another familiar face appears among all the students currently in the class, and almost all of them are Airen's old classmates. Airen scoffs and thinks, "Ah, come on, what the hell did I do to deserve this?" Airen is met with stares of hatred and revenge from all the students. Among them, a student more memorable to Airen than the rest is Anabel Williams.

"Shouldn't you be in a pigsty rather than here?" Airen, feeling remorse for what he said and how he acted before, attempts to start anew and says, "Sorry, I am trying to sa—" A sharp nail hits Airen in the throat. Being able to react in time, he pulls it out and dodges the punches from the three others. Airen heals himself and becomes a bit angry. He yells, "If you throw another thing at me, I will shove it up your ass and take it out of your fucking mouth, Hendrie!" "Sure, try it, dipshit," said Anabel Williams. "You think an asshole like you can win against all of us." All of Arien's old classmates take him in their scope, and as soon as Alenia makes different metallic weapons by drawing them with her blood, Hendrie readies them using his ability and takes Airen as the target. Airen strengthens his body and makes a small dagger, as well as a bullet out of blood. Ready at Anabel's head is the bullet, and in Airens hand is the knife, ready to send his old 'friends' to the other world. "Forget about apologizing. I'll kill you all! GET READY, BITCHES, AND START PRAYING!"

"HAHAHAHAHA! Kids these days don't even know how to get along. OI, get back in your seats and put away your toys." Airen and his classmates sit in the closest seats to them subconsciously. Airen, as well, follows suit on the bench closest by. Some twist of fate places Anabel as his bench mate, and without even wanting to, Airen and the rest silence down. "Is this his ability?" Airen thought to himself as he looked to a black-bearded, bald man with glowing brown eyes—a testament to his active ability. The man, in his early 30s and wearing a navy-blue suit, was smiling as he looked toward his obedient slaves.
