Chapter 1 - Into The Light

I never really bought into the idea of a "light at the end of the tunnel." nor the luxury of meeting with people that you lost after death as I always believed that once you die, you die alone. People talk about it after they nearly die, but here I am, faced with a bright light yet alone. My last memory is sleeping in my royal room.

Am I dead? If so, how? Was I killed? I don't remember doing anything to make enemies, but being an important person makes people want you gone.

Since I wasn't waking up anytime soon, I decided to go with the flow and head towards the light. The journey felt like forever, with bright red colors and strange sounds. Trying to talk, I could only manage a cry.

After a while, the noise settled, and I heard someone say, "Congratulations Sir and Madam, she's a healthy girl."

Hold on.

Normally, I should be thinking about being born again or something, but my mind went to a strange thought about the light leading through a lady's...

Never mind that.

Realizing I understood the language was a relief. Opening my baby eyes, I saw a room with candles and straw on the floor. Did I come into the world through some magic?

Looking at the woman who seemed like my mom, Elara Wintergale, she had a warm vibe. And the man I thought was my dad, Kellan Wintergale, looked proud. The place didn't look like a hospital, and the so-called doctor wasn't wearing a doctor's outfit.

Days passed, and I struggled to control my baby arms and legs. Babies don't grab your finger to show love; it's just a reflex. And not having control over when I pee or poop was frustrating. But being fed by my mom, Elara, was a comfort, just for the nutrition, okay?

The room seemed old, like from a time without electricity. But my hope for a simple past was shattered when Elara healed a scratch with a strange light from her hands. Where am I?

With Elara and Kellan, I went to a place called Eldoria, like a little town with dirt paths and tents. People carried weapons like they were normal things, which was weird. Kellan, who I guessed was my dad, did a chant and made water bubbles appear. I was confused, but he thought I was amazed.

This world felt like a mix of magic and fighters, kind of like my old world but different. Money here was in copper, silver, and gold, which in short is 100 copper for silver and 100 silver for gold and so on just like everyday life in this world.

As I tried to figure out how to move my arms and legs every day, something mysterious yet exciting started to change in this new reality.
