Chapter 98: Time [2]: Questions
"Why...?" It was a cracked whisper, barely escaping Bozo's lips. It held the weight of a shattered world, a plea for reason amidst the wreckage.
Then, the dam broke. "Tell me why I lost Teres!" His voice tore through the air, a raw howl of anguish. "Why did the village get destroyed? Why did my family die?" Each word was a shard of glass ripping from his throat.
A choked laugh, a humor as black as the night sky, escaped him. "Haha... why? Why must I bear so much sadness? Why is it I, who has to live after seeing so much death? Just why!?"
Bozo crumpled to the ground, a broken marionette with strings cut. Blood, tears, and mud painted a grotesque mask on his face. Yet, his relentless questions hammered on: "Why? Why? Why?"
He lunged at the sky, a fist shaking at the indifferent heavens. "I've had enough! Enough is enough!" A raw, desperate scream tore from his depths.
