Immediately Rats began to flood toward our location, Pildu began to run away but I thwarted his attempts. The first wave began to attack and I started swinging, Pildu hid behind me so I threw him towards the rats, and that seemed to make him start fighting. One rat, then two, then suddenly all the rats jumped on him.
I ran into the huge pile and activated Blood Lust hopefully get him out the pile, and to my surprise it worked, the rats fell down away from Pildu. I used my Sprint offensively to power up my legs and kick the rats away, killing a few. Each rat kill gave me 50 Coins, this was a profitable excursion definitely worth my time, I looked to Pildu who was curled up against the wall trying to avoid eye contact with the Rats. Whatever more kills for me.
The minutes turned to hours, and the rats were still coming, I though it would never end until finally it seemed their number began to dwindle. Eventually I killed what seemed to be the last one, then a notification appeared on my screen.
Wave Subjugated, Commencing Difficulty increase.
Difficulty C -> B
The tunnel began to rumble and more rats began running from the tunnel but this time they were bigger, had stronger teeth, and began spitting a green, acid like substance. I pulled a tooth from one of the dead rats and used it like a dagger, I deflected one of the liquids and sure enough, it was acid, it corroded through the tooth leaving it unusable.
I thought of a moment before deciding that I should retreat and come back after leveling up me stats. I ran back to a green zone and began to upgrade my stats as much as possible.
Out of the 2500 Coins I made, I remained with 100. Something I noticed while upgrading strength is that now the cost to upgrade has increased to 500 from 300. This must be a way to balance players from making lots of money and maxing out their stats, if there is a max. I ran back to the rats to find Pildu running out of the tunnel, i'm surprised it took him this long to get here but it's not like I cared.
I charged at the rats and swung my fist at ones face, the Strength upgrade was very noticeable as I blew the face off the rat. The rats were now worth 100 coins. I began the slaughter but after killing 10 rats they all began to run away. I chased after then only to find they had disappeared.
I looked down to notice that the first midnight had ended and the wave of monsters were removed. Oh well, I still made 1000 coins. I immediately spent them on Agility.
I made my way back to a green zone and bought some food for 50 coins and began to prepare for the second midnight.
