Chapter 16 - Chapter 16:Houdini that you!!!

[Cacti city....]

In the bustling atmosphere of Cacti City, the concert's anticipation had reached a fever pitch.

Ruby and Amythyst, twin hellhounds from the Gluttony Ring, found themselves embroiled in a frustrating predicament at the entrance of one of Hell's most renowned concert venues.

Born into the harsh world of Hell, where unwanted hellhound pups are consigned to shelters with shitty conditions, the sisters had never let the world dampen their spirits.

Despite being abandoned at birth, they had each other's backs, navigating the challenges of Hell with resilience and sheer fucking will.

Ruby, the outspoken and vibrant one, always took the lead, her boldness matched only by her fierce loyalty to Amythyst.

Her sister, while quieter and more reserved, harboured a strength that surfaced when provoked.

Together, they were an unmatched pair, having weathered the storms of life since being kicked out of the shelter on their eighteenth birthday.

Through grit and perseverance, they had managed to carve out a semblance of stability, finding jobs and building friendships along the way.

The concert was meant to be a present to themselves for their hard work and sacrifices, a dream realized after months of saving.

Amythyst, in particular, had poured most of her earnings into securing VIP tickets for them.

However, their excitement quickly turned to dismay then anger when they realized Ruby had been pickpocketed.

Their tickets were now in the hands of a thief who was probably already out there, selling their tickets to the highest bidder.

As they tried to explain their situation to the security guard, their pleas fell on deaf ears.

Ruby, the more outspoken twin with a punk-rock vibe, faced off against the security guard with a mix of defiance and annoyance.

"Look, dude, we didn't hustle all this way to get scammed by some pickpocket. We got real tickets, and you're gonna let us in, capiche?" Her tone was sharp, the edge in her voice cutting through the ambient noise of the crowd.

Amethyst, with a more calm personality, tried to ask more politely, even bringing out her phone to prove that they had bought the tickets.

"Don't you have a system to check for this kind of mix-up?"

The guard, unmoved by their pleas, sneered with a proposition that made their skin crawl. "Maybe we can work something out, a little favour for a favour, huh?"

Ruby's response was immediate and scathing, her patience worn thin. "In your dreams you creepy fuck stain! Do you think you can push us around 'cause we're just some hellhounds? Think again buttercup!"

Just when Ruby was ready to scrap with the security gaurd, someone appeared behind her. Tucker had finally made his timely entrance.

Flashing his Ultra VIP ticket with a nonchalance that belied his intentions, he caught the guard off-guard and tilted the scales in their favour.

"These two are with me," Tucker stated firmly, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife.

The guard, recognizing the significance of the ticket and therefore the person before him, quickly changed his tune, stumbling over his words in his haste to accommodate.

Ruby, with her fiery spirit undimmed, couldn't resist a parting shot at the guard. "That's what I thought. Better recognize next time before you start making sleazy offers."

As they made their way into the VIP section, Ruby couldn't help but throw a victorious smirk back at the guard, she threw a middle finger at him before catching up to Tucker and her sister.

Amethyst, though relieved, gave Tucker a curious glance, her gratitude mixed with surprise. "Thanks for that, but why help us?."

Tucker, adjusting his mask, simply replied, "Haha, think nothing of it, you seemed like you needed a hand so I lent you one, nothing more, nothing less."

"Fuck yeah, you're pretty cool sunshine, oh!!! I'm Ruby by the way and this is my little sis Amethyst...don't think about touching her or I'll kill you."

(・_・ヾ)

I wasn't planning to.

.....

Amethyst, while more reserved, allowed herself a small smile, the tension of the moment giving way to the excitement of the concert ahead.

But then Amethyst's eyes suddenly widened as she finally took a good look at Tucker, the realization hitting her like a drumbeat.

"Wait, it's you!" she exclaimed, recognition dawning on her face. She hadn't paid much attention before, but now it clicked; Tucker was the mysterious guy who had given them those intricately carved wooden figurines just hours ago.

Ruby, snapped her gaze towards Tucker, a grin spreading across her face.

"Oh snap, you're the dude with the cool carvings!" she said, her voice echoing her vibrant personality. "Thanks a ton for those, man. We wanted to find you to say thanks, but you pulled a Houdini on us!"

Tucker, slightly amused and hidden behind his mask, nodded. "Glad you liked them. I thought they'd make a good souvenir."

As they made their way to the Ultra VIP section, Ruby bombarded Tucker with questions, her curiosity now officially piqued.

"So, what's with the ninja get-up? You hiding from Hell's paparazzi or something?" she joked, trying to get a read on their mysterious hellborn.

Tucker, keeping his answers vague, simply replied, "Let's just say I like to keep a low profile."

Amethyst, ever the peacemaker, apologized for Ruby's barrage of questions. "Sorry about her; she's got the subtlety of a sledgehammer."

Tucker chuckled under his mask, reassuring Amethyst. "No worries. I find it refreshing, actually. It's nice to meet someone who says what they think."

Their interaction was suddenly interrupted by the screechy voice of a spoiled Ars Goetia kid in the next room across.

With blue feathers fluttering, he dramatically threw an imp across the room while loudly complaining into his phone. "Dad, this is unacceptable! My allowance is a joke! How am I supposed to enjoy the concert with these friends?"

Ruby rolled her eyes at the scene. "Looks like someone's never heard the word 'no' in his life."

Amethyst sighed, adding, "Must be nice to throw a tantrum and still get everything handed to you on a silver platter."

Ruby, spotting a bar nearby, made a beeline for it, her excitement growing. "First round's on me! Let's get this party started!"

Amethyst, apologised for her sister's whirlwind energy again, but received a kind smile from Tucker. "Honestly, it's all good. Makes for interesting company."

Soon Ruby returned, announcing triumphantly, "I've got us covered! Best seats in the house, and now, the best drinks. This night's gonna be legendary!"

As they headed into the concert, Tucker couldn't help but laugh at the commotion caused by the spoiled Ars Goetia kid, who was now making a scene over his food order.

"Can you believe this guy?" Ruby commented, unable to hold back her amusement. "Throws imps like confetti and loses it over a sold-out snack."

Though Tucker hadn't been in the company of too many nobles he knew that they could be quite...arrogant and Narsasistic.

...

Inside the luxurious Ultra VIP room, Ruby and Amethyst explored with wide-eyed wonder, they looked like they had just found a golden ticket to Willy Wonkers chocolate factory.

Amethyst and Ruby, caught up in the moment, took to Sinstagram, snapping photos and adding hashtags like #UltraVIPExperience and #ConcertNightInHell, with Tucker inadvertently photo-bombing some of their shots.

Their posts conveyed their excitement and the surreal reality of being in the Ultra VIP section, a dream come true for both.

Tucker, meanwhile, perused the performer leaflet, noting the lineup.

"Hey, check this out," he called to the twins, who quickly joined him on the sofa, their earlier antics momentarily paused as they looked on the night's schedule.

"Ooh, I've been dying to see this act live!" Ruby exclaimed, pointing at one of the names.

Amethyst, sharing in the excitement, added, "This is going to be so much fun. I can't believe we're actually here!"

Their shared enthusiasm for the concert, bolstered by the unexpected turn of events that led them to the Ultra VIP section, set the tone for a night they would never forget.

Especially because...this was a night many demons would be talking about for weeks...even months to come.
