Chapter two:
"WHAT." Sebastien said, taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes for good measure. The dogs were slowly rising over the dome. "YOU SEE THIS?" sebastien asked, and William nodded. "Let's go check the news." William said, closing the blinds and running to the living room. Sebastien then followed William to the tv where the news was playing on their TV for some reason.
(the breaking news intro jingle)
"BREAKING NEWS!! A DOG FLOOD HAS COMPLETELY COVERED FELIDA AND IS SPREADING OVER VANCOUVER! THE FLOOD IS SPREADING AT 20 MPH AND GROWING. THE DOGS SEEM TO BE MULTIPLYING AND TRANSFORMING ANY MULTICELLULAR ORGANISMS EXCEPT PLANTS INTO DOGS. IS THIS THE END? ANYONE NEAR WASHINGTON, IMMEDIATELY START EVAC—-A—-A—-A—-A—-A—-A…
the TV screen started glitching out and turned to the color glitch screen and made a soft humming noise over the loud static. "What happened?!?" William said, getting up and checking the router. "Lets go check outside." Sebastien said. William nodded.
The kids walked over to the door and opened it up to a pitch black area. The only illuminated spots were where light was shining through the windows and the door. "Woah." Sebastien said. "I guess that's why we lost connection, the dogs-" (Sebastien snorted a soft laugh at the sight of a dog's face squished against the barrier, tongue out and staring back at him) Sebastien took a deep breath. "The dogs are blocking the radio waves, and it appears we are trapped." Stated William. "It's time to activate… Project frog." "What? What's Project frog?" Sebastien asked. "It's something we've been working on." William flicked the light switch four times, and a panel popped out of the wall.
"HUUUUH????" Sebastien exclaimed. He pressed a few buttons and a giant stand popped out of the floor that had a giant frog shaped button under a clear plastic case. "Excuse me for interrupting your sciency shenanigans but, where did you receive funding for this?!" "We don't talk about that…" William said. He opened the case and hit the button, sending a signal through the wires into four giant thrusters under the house, which then started shaking. All of the sudden, the record room transformed into a control center filled with buttons, switches, screens and command chairs. "Hold up…" Sebastien said as he realized what was going on.
"GET IN YOUR SEAT" William yelled, rushing to a command chair. He buckled himself in and moved the chair and hit a button. `INITIATING COUNTDOWN. BLASTING OFF IN 10, 9, 8… "HOLD ON!!!!" William yelled, as Sebastien buckled himself in and held onto his chair, his head sinking into his body. "YOU KNOW, I'VE NEVER TESTED THIS, BUT HERE WE…. 3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF-F-F-F!!!!!!! "UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH" the kids yelled, as the house started gaining altitude.
Chapter three:
The dogs did not see THIS coming. All of the sudden, a giant, plated and modified house labeled 'FROGEE-ATLAHOUSE' with large thrusters burst through the flood of dogs, sending many clones flying as the house gained speed and broke the atmosphere and entered space in a record time of 28.63 seconds. Very specific, I know. "HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS WORK!" Sebastien yelled, clenching his chair. "I REALLY DON'T KNOW.. BUT MY DAD WAS A ROCKET SCIENTIST." William answered. "WHAT" Sebastien screamed.
The house then broke the atmosphere as the thrusters shut down and started its orbit phase, where solar panels jetted out of the house then aligned themselves at the sun, and an overly-sized satellite dish and antenna came out of the top. The record room fanned out to show large windows viewing earth, and Some of the other screens turned on to show the FROGEE-ATLAHOUSE's status. 'It is now safe to exit your chairs.' a robotic, siri like voice sounded. "how. Did. YOU. DO THIS???" Sebastien said, getting out of his chair to look at the command center and the plated, Sciencey SCIFI walls.
William took a deep breath. "My dad was a rocket scientist,... (another deep breath) but he was also…. An a-alien." he stammered. "Ok, that doesn't explain anything, William." Sebastien said. "It just means that your dad knows a lot about rockets, and that you're a half-breed. but that doesn't explain how you know enough to turn your house into a spaceship, and get enough funding for this, William."
"Wait, look! We can see the dogs from here!" William said. "You're avoiding the question Will- Oh my god. That's a lot of dogs." Sebastien said, looking down through the glass. they could see from space that the dogs have completely covered half of Washington and Oregon! The dog flood looked like a large brown blob with black spots extremely slowly growing.
*GASPH* "QIBLY AND PATO! ARE THEY OK?" William shouted, and started to run around the house, and under William's Parent's bed, Pato. "wah?" Pato meowed, sounding like a duck, (how he got his name) like always. "Oh, thank goodness." William said, reaching under the bed to scratch Pato's chin, and he pressed his head into William's arm. They quickly checked on Qibly, who was in his cage. "Oh good. He is safe, but all of the water has spilled in his cage." said Sebastien.
"The superworms are going crazy in their cup… at least the cap didn't pop off." William observed, picking back up the cup. "MREWAUH MREWAUH MREUAH" Pato yelled from the banister. "PATO, SHUSH!" William yelled back at Pato. …"MURAH MURAH MURAH" he yelled again. "Why, pato?" sebastien said. "Because pig." William answered. "Oh, that makes sense." Sebastien said, then they broke into laughter.
"Wait a minute… Where are your parents, William?!" Sebastien inquired. "My dad's at work and my mom went out to take Stella to her friend's house for trick or treating.." William answered, looking sad. "Hopefully they are safe inside a building." Sebastien said, attempting to comfort William. "Well, it is Pato's dinner time. Let's go feed him." William said, attempting to change the conversation.
They went down stairs and cracked open a can of 'Fancy Feast' and fed Pato. "You still haven't answered my question of where you got the funding for this." Sebastien asked. "We used my dad's ship and infused it into the house in case we wanted to leave but he decided he was happy here and decided to stay, but overall, around $3,000, and It took them 13 years." William answered. "△▭▯▮▲▱▯▼▽▶◀▱►◄◁▷▰▽▨" gibbered Sebastien.
