Synopsis

Preface.

Mudhin Amal quietly entered the princess' chamber. Satisfied that no one but the princess was in the room, he quietly turned off some of the candle lights and walked to the woman's bed.

He mounted her platform and stood by the bed, carefully studying her like an open book before he took out a long piece of cloth and another two.

Princess Cora-Jane groaned and slowly opened her eyes feeling that someone was watching her. She panicked and sat up, about to cry out in alarm but Amal chuckled darkly and shushed her.

He tied the cloth around her mouth and the other two, around her wrists and ankles. Cora struggled to free herself from captivity but Amal advised in a deadly deep voice.

"If you don't want any trouble, keep still." Cora flinched at the intensity of his deep voice and unconsciously allowed him to carry her onto his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

She cried as she writhed to escape. Amal harshly threw her upon his horse and used another cloth to cover her eyes.

Cora-Jane shed more tears. Why was this man after her? She didn't even know him!

Amal outsmarted the soldiers at the gate. He had cradled Cora in his arms, deliberately hiding her face in his massive chest.

"I am taking my wife to the village's doctor." He lied to them. The soldiers failed to notice that the man wasn't even a part of them.

They allowed him to go without checking the state his 'wife' was in.

Mudhin Amal smirked as he rode to his camp, where his guards were waiting for him.
