Chapter 6 - 6

****************

Roman wakes up in a huge hospital room with an amazing view of the city. He feels way better than he did before. He had a drip in his arm and his gunshot wound had been taken care of properly. He hears the voice of his brother talking to his subordinates by the door.

Apollo sees him and smiles, "Roman. You are finally awake." He walks over to him after telling his men to call the nurse.

He smiles softly as he hears his brother's voice and he slowly opens his eyes. His vision was abit blurry at first from the exhaustion and he blinks a few times for it to become clearer. "Apollo..." he spoke softly and he tried sitting up a little bit, even though he felt better than he did before he was exhausted and his body still ached. Every movement he made felt like the body's response was slow due to how exhausted he was from before.

"Brother. You had surgery. Doctor Ryan said you'd be okay now. Don't worry okay?"

He nods and he exhales slowly as he was relieved that whatever surgery he went through went well. He stares at the drip and he watches the liquid flow through the clear line."How many days was I out for? he asks softly as he lays back down on the bed and he lets out a big yawn.

"It's been a week." Apollo pours him water, "We found the men that ambushed our meeting. Let's just say they are no longer breathing." He hands him the water.

He nods slowly as he drinks the water Apollo had given him, the liquid felt refreshing and it was helping with his exhaustion as it had a calming effect on his body. He sighs quietly and he looks over at Apollo. "Were there any casualties on our side?"

"A few. The families have been compensated."

He nods slightly once more and he continues to drink the water. His body feels like it's coming back to life as he's no longer feeling as lightheaded as before.

"It's okay. I know you take these things to heart brother." Apollo takes a seat beside him, "Just focus on recovering."

He is silent as he nods again and he closes his eyes. He sighs deeply and he is silent for a bit before he speaks again."Did Megan come at all while I was gone?"

"Megan?" Apollo said suprised his brother would ask about her. "I thought it was for the best not to tell her where we were going."

He stayed silent for a moment as he processed this information and he nods his head slightly in understanding. "You're right...she was worried enough as it is..." He sighs softly and he groans slightly out of mild discomfort from the surgery he got.

"I wanted to give her some money as thanks, she refused though." Apollo thinks back to when he was about to leave Megan's house and offered her a million dollars for her trouble. Megan had told him she didn't want the money and to tell Roman she was sorry for accepting his offer to pay her as it was wrong.

He laughs quietly and he nods his head, "I wouldn't be surprised if she refused it. She's an incredibly stubborn person who doesn't easily accept help."

"You seem very fond of her but I must remind you that she doesn't fit into our world. I doubt you'd want her to be dragged in this lifestyle."

He shrugs slightly and he smiles warmly, "You're right about her not fitting into our world..." he pauses for a moment, "but I care for her, she's sweet and kind-hearted and that's enough for me."

Apollo shakes head in disapproval. "Brother. She may have taken care of You when you were hurt but isn't it because you promised to pay her? Don't confuse her actions with anything more."

He groans softly and he raises himself up slightly on his arm, he sighs heavily and he smiles softly, "I'm not talking about the fact that she cared for me. I'm talking about her character. She's genuine and kind-hearted, she does things that she thinks is good and right. I know she didn't take care of me because I promised money, she did it because she wanted to. You can't pay for her kindness."

Apollo didn't like this. He felt that his brother was blinded by what she had done for him he wasn't thinking about the consequences of getting a weakness. Megan would be his weak point when he had none.

"So what will you do brother? Find her and confess your undying devotion to Her?" He asked sarcastically.

Roman thinks about this for a moment and he smiles softly. "I'll probably do something like that. It won't be easy but I'll find a way to make her understand. I don't want to lose her and I'm more than willing to do whatever I can to keep her by my side and away from my dangerous lifestyle."

"Roman that is impossible! Have you forgotten what father taught us? Women are a weakness. Especially if you love her. Megan would be the perfect leverage other gangs can have against you." Apollo wanted him to understand this, "Don't let het be your weakness."

His smile fades away and he shrugs slightly and he sighs, "You're probably right...she won't fit in this world and I don't want her to be dragged in it." Roman tries keeping his voice calm and collected but he was heartbroken thinking that he won't be able to see her again. He is also feeling slightly irritated that his younger brother was right, this woman that he fell for is his biggest weakness and he hates it.

Apollo could see the sad look on his brothers face and this worried. Usually his brother barely showed any emotions. How did she manage to make his feel so strongly about Her?

"You were barely consious. How do you know you are in love with her anyways? Are you not confusing feeling grateful for Love?" Apollo asked confused.

A slight flicker of annoyance flashes in his eyes a slight grimace also forms on his face. He hated the fact that his own brother was right.

"Yes it's possible that I'm confusing the two emotions, but if that is the case... It's a huge confusing mess. This is the first time I've ever felt grateful for someone and maybe that's just it. But at the same time, I can tell that it's more than just simply being grateful."
