Chapter 24 - Bloodthirst

Aurora.

Thirty minutes later, Lucas was in the room again, dressed in a suit. He looked more handsome than he did when he was naked. I drank a cup of water and sat on the chair, going through the book I was reading yesterday.

"Did anything happen that I am meant to be aware of yesterday?" he asked.

That was not a regular question. He knew or heard something happened yesterday. "A maid came here yesterday, she was going to bathe me and she had blood on her so…"

He became serious. "And what did you do?" he asked resting on the table.

"She gave me some blood. She told me it was alright and I took a little from her neck. I treated her wound and cured it with some first aid tools I found in the locker."

I stifled a yawn. I hadn't been able to sleep well last night, both because I had foreign blood in my body, and because of what Trevor had told me. Nevertheless, I kept a sharp eye out. The blood made me restless through the night. It started around three a.m.

"You drank from a wolf…do you know to could have killed her?" he yelled.

"But I didn't. Where were you when I had her in my arms, enjoying the sweetness of her blood? I miss who I used to be Lucas. I love you, that is why I have stayed behind but…if you would become a master over me then I would have to make my separate decisions. I don't belong here!"

"You should have known all of that when you got into the trap of Wolves. You think I wanted you to live this way?"

I shook my head. "My stomach…my body…everything is changing Lucas and it all started when I met you. And now, you have turned me into your prisoner. You told me we would be together forever. Look at me and look at how busy you are. If you were really this busy, how then did you find the time to come visit me in the woods?"

He said nothing and just slid his hands in his pocket. "Unless I was part of your job. All I want is to go home, Lucas. That is all. I don't want this life. I'm a Gen Z. I need to live my life."

He shook his head and pointed a finger at me. "I didn't curse you, okay? You should have been dead but you refused to die! If you don't want this life then why wouldn't you die?"

The cup slid from my hand and dropped to the ground. The scattering sounds of glass filled my ears. "You…tried to kill me?"

"Look, I am only helping you…"

"No. You're not. You never loved me, did you? My life…it frustrates you doesn't it?"

"Aurora —"

I scoffed. "That means, it is all a lie. Everything you have told me from scratch. It's a lie. Am I not worth anything? Anything at all?" I waited for him to speak…at least a lie.

"You are in my city, you obey my rules. Do not leave this room and there is no drinking of blood in any way. If I had my way, you would be long dead."

He disappeared. I fell on the ground not minding the broken glasses. I have walked the wrong path…I would have to do it my way. Now that I know my life is insignificant, I have nothing to lose if I die.

I picked a book and read it, trying not to mind all Lucas said. Or perhaps he was lying. Maybe he was being blackmailed and he said those things without meaning any of it.

Trevor walked in. His look had changed. He wore a hoodie with baggy pants. His hair made him look younger than he was.

"Is anything wrong with you?" he asked. I shook my head and closed the book I was reading.

"Let's start." he nodded and handed me a book. The way it was written, it looked like it was meant for kids in elementary school.

"What am I learning, werewolf or Vampire?" I asked.

"Hybrid. So, from there you would see that hybrids don't always turn to wolves and it takes just a little while for them to grow their wolves. You would need blood."

I wanted to tell him I already had that but I changed my mind. "Your first intake of blood is very important."

"Huh? Why?"

"Because it gives you more strength than any other person, Wolf or Vamp and it depends on how much you take. For a start, you would only need a little so I brought you a blood bag. Lucas mustn't know about this okay?"

I smiled. "Trust me, he won't."

He gave me the blood and I gulped it down like a thirsty horse that just found water. It was different from the lady's blood. I didn't want to take her blood but she insisted I do.

"How do you feel?" he asked.

"Hungry!" that was how I felt. I wanted more. My body surged with hunger and thirst like I had never seen. "I want more, Trevor."

"Another lesson is you would lose your pride if you can't control yourself. This is human blood. If you had a human right now, you would kill the person because of your hunger for blood. You have to calm down and look for something that would calm you down. That would be your secret weapon."

His talks are too much. I wanted blood. "Trevor, give me some…blood." I walked closer to him and tried to bite him but he held me at arm's length. I sighed and closed my eyes. I took three deep breaths and my body was calm.

"Take that bag away from me," I said to him." he threw it away and made me sit. "We are good for today. Tomorrow, we will start other training on how powerful you are and how you can control it but for now, I would need to take my leave. Lucas would be here any minute."

He didn't wait for my response he just left.
