While these notifications occupied part of my vision I saw myself fall from the sky into the ocean.
Just as I fell into the water I could see ten beings waiting for me, they were all very similar, humanoid head with a very large mouth, no apparent nostrils or ears but with huge eyes, the body was also human, two arms extended from it and with their hands at the end, These webbed, better for swimming and at the end of the body there were no legs, three tentacles did their job, although these tentacles were not quite normal, the most central tentacle had a long spine and at the end a kind of crest, like a fan in the shape of an arrow.
On the back, there were a couple of large bulges, like over toned muscles, spanning from the shoulder blades to the neck.
Finally I saw that you could differentiate the gender of these beings from the chest, being rather humanoid, the ''females'' had breasts, but not the normal human ones, without nipples, neither plump nor sagging, they looked more like a pair of rounder and larger muscles, in certain cases.
The skin was made up of very small trident-shaped scales set point up *(like that of sharks), their color of a very dark blue along with a grayish hue on the bust, plus patterns in looser, brighter blues all over the body.
These creatures were not really beautiful, not to say that they would be part of an underwater horror movie, but they gave me that strange familiarity, which was resolved when I looked at myself, they were abyssal and my companions, I have to say that I only had one difference with them, instead of three tentacles I had five, with the same characteristics as them.ç
When I was finally able to move after a slight dizziness one of the abyssals rushed into my arms, while the others except for four of them surrounded me and lowered their heads.
At that moment my mind was completely lost.
It was only when the one who was clinging to my neck and with her head down spoke, that I could understand what was happening.
- My lord, don't do that stupid thing again, no matter how immortal you are, your life is very important, you are not.... - At that moment her voice began to tremble, I was sure that if we were not in the water I could see the tears falling, her voice reflected the helplessness she had suffered while defending them from their death, all because of [Loyalty].
For them it was as if their father, their friend or the one you would give your life for, sacrificed himself for you, powerless to stop him, powerless to do anything. That feeling of being trapped, just being helpless.
And this they had all suffered.
- Okay, okay, that's it, that's it. That already happened and there was nothing we could do, besides it wasn't done out of pure kindness, so I don't deserve your tears. Besides now we are here and the dangers are just around the corner, if you want to pay me back just follow me and help me from here in the future- I could not let them fall into that pit for an action born of greed, I myself knew that I had sacrificed myself because I could not replace them quickly and thus my progress would be truncated, it was best to make it clear to them and prevent the feeling of guilt from taking root.
At that moment the tallest of my followers, taking more than a head from me, knelt down as best he could and spoke.
- In the name of my brothers, I apologize to you for our impotence and lack of power, I swear to you that you will not have to sacrifice yourself for us ever again, we will become capable of protecting you and getting you to see us as your loyal followers. This one had a powerful voice, the voice you would imagine for a general of legions, a voice that denoted firmness and confidence, discipline and honor, that of someone who does not swear in vain.
After listening to him, the one who was hugging me released me and stood beside him, the others along with the four who had stayed away from the beginning also lined up and knelt down, with a single voice a phrase resounded in that fragment of sea like a hurricane, making my veins burn and turn my non-existent hairs into spikes.
- I SWEAR - A simple phrase that conveyed true loyalty, the one that all generals dream of their soldiers and kings of their generals and vassals. Simple fire in my heart and with it a phrase was imprinted in my heart.
- Dying was not in vain - That feeling of brotherhood, of family I had not had in real life, but now, after a couple of days in LAZ, in this new life, I had felt it for the first time.
No ulterior motives, no reluctance or darkness in his voice, it was so pure and transparent, I could notice a couple of tears coming out of my big eyes and getting lost in the infinite ocean and I admit I was thankful to be down here, because if they wouldn't see me crying my eyes out... in such a short time and with just one sentence, that feeling of weight, of distrust due to the betrayal that led to my death... it was gone.
Far, far away and hopefully never to return.
