Lint's point of view
When my master Hel allowed me to be the one to explore I could not keep my composure, a smile escaped from me, although in comparison to the one Balthazar made when he was given the order to study magic and the crystals, mine seemed to be a half smile and his showed our innumerable teeth.
I also have to admit that Balthazar took a risk in trying to contradict master Hel, not for him, but for Lilith. The master is very kind, we know that we were born to serve him and that he is an immortal, but we also know that to be an immortal you have to suffer in another world, an unimaginable suffering, they would not see their families again, unless they come, but eventually not even that, besides the basic prerequisite is to die.
He does not seem to realize that we know, but we do not intend to tell him, we will always be his loyal servants, returning to why he is so kind, it is simple, it is because he confessed, he admitted that he saved us sacrificing himself out of selfishness, but... since when does a selfish person admit his actions, since never. Someone really selfish would say he did it from his heart and try to get something out of it.
Sometimes he is so cunning and sometimes so innocent, although we all like that.
Going back to Balthazar, his risk was with everyone, to do something against our lord is capital punishment, even a contradiction, although now we will half allow it as our lord asked and about Lilith....
It is all thanks to my individuality, the eyes of the world, allow me to see the essence of things, be it the contained glow of magic in the crystals, the traces in the environment or even the emotions of those around me, in this case, we all had certain levels of anger towards Balthazar, but Lilith, she not only had hate, she was a sea of emotions, anger, desire, veneration, savagery and blood, a huge desire for blood, even greater than that of Velona.
Needless to say, desire and veneration were not for Balthazar, his desire for our lord stands out far beyond, one could say that his loyalty to master Hel, is greater than Gal's, but at the same time it is darker.
I can say without fear of being wrong that if Balthazar were to overdo it, he would end up with all his limbs broken, including his neck. But well, in our hearts we have already given the second place of command to Lilith, even being so short and cute, for our race, she is the scariest of all.
Putting that aside, my mission is the most important thing, I have been granted my wish to go out and explore, so with enthusiasm, I gathered up the three members of our group and we set off.
We had no destination but that was the interesting thing, to have what we found, where we could end up and could bring some good news to my lord, I have to admit that after the discovery I could see in the look of my lord, amazement and gratitude, hehe, if Lilith finds out she would kill me for sure, but it would be a funny death.
After leaving the chasm, Caronte took a long piece of coral and let it fall like a propeller, we chose one of the sides of the branch as an indicator and followed the course indicated by chance. To my surprise neither Velona, nor Gaea, cared about our perfect mode of guidance for the journey.
With that we began to move, in our first hour of travel we found a couple of beasts in areas with high density of beasts, both animal class and beast class. We stayed as far away as possible and kept an eye on them at all times, they were not at all far from our chasm/hole/cavern/home, it sure could be useful to have a more powerful diet, besides the experience, on the other hand, we also found several fruits growing in the corals, but we left them all, there were so many that will be picked up early for sure.
After a while more of searching we threw the piece of coral again and as before we continued exploring to where chance indicated us.
During this trip, we were able to find a large chasm, full of holes, in them many beasts of small size, all with certain equal characteristics: their shape did not differ much among them, although it was somewhat peculiar, their tail was extremely thin and grew more and more in width until it almost reached the area where a humanoid would have the neck, then it would become thinner again giving the head a tip, their whole body, from their long tail, to their body itself, was flat, under them a dozen little legs and two larger ones under the head, from the end of their snout four cartilaginous strips, came out like whiskers, on the four diagonals.
Apart from these joint characteristics, the rest was different among them, they looked more like castes, there were some larger, others with different colors, the smallest and most common kind was white with red areas, the largest in scene, differed by their two larger limbs, they were much more robust and with spikes both inside and outside, these front limbs, looked like round tweezers, where the inside was hollow, the most numerous kind seemed to use them to dig and transport rocks and other materials that hinder the tunnels.
We looked at each other and decided that we would have to report on this species of beasts, perhaps they could be a danger to us, unlike other beings, these seemed orderly and efficient, perhaps they had some beast leader who directed them, but we could see that they had intelligence.
After observing them for a while we continued our journey.
It was already dark in the night, but for us it was not at all important.
With no nearby demonic level beasts and our area safe, we were more than ready to continue exploring, plus the coral chunk chose that our next waypoint would be near the coast, an hour and a bit from our base.
The area near the coast, was very quiet, shells and clams rested on the rocks or hidden in the sand, as we had some appetite we ate a few.
Its taste was not a delight, but it was not horrible either, here we would have another source of food, we continued observing calmly, we all had some exhausted stamina, but a mission is a mission, more if that mission is to explore.
We continued on our way and decided to go to the surface, before long we would reach the beach and there would be nothing to see in the ocean.
And only then we realized our stupidity, we were very close to a coastal town, with nets and people strolling.
If we had come any closer without ascending we would have been at the mercy of their lights and would have been noticed.
The village was extremely small, with only a dozen simple houses of wood and mud, a simple wall made of logs nailed to the ground bordered them leaving only the open coast and why leave the water area without a wall, well simple, they were turtle men, as amphibians they were not afraid to fight in water, plus seeing so many nets you could see that they focused on fishing.
That explained why they did not find so many fish in the area, there were fish, but in the coral area where our home was, the numbers reached dozens of times or even more in the comparison.
With our discovery in tow, I asked Charon to guide us back and it was only thanks to him that we were able to get there quickly, he was somewhat serious and not very talkative, but he became shy when thanked, how cute.
