Chapter 32 - At The Exam Centre

I'd been camping out at the hotel for a couple of more days and finally the day for my exams came.

I woke up that day, feeling unmotivated as ever. My passing was assured, I wondered if I even had to do the exam.

I groaned loudly as I got out of bed and ordered some room service. Breakfast was served to me shortly and I brushed my teeth before enjoying a light meal.

I was barely excited or elated about the exams, I just wanted it to be over.

"Couldn't my family just use their influence to get me into this school!" I shouted as I lay down back on the bed.

I just wanted to go back to my normal life, I hadn't jogged, worked out, done martial arts or been to the gym in days.

I barely left the room, and with good reason. The less people that knew I was camping out here the better.

Today was no exception, I couldn't go to the gym once again and with good reason. My exams would span for the entire day, beginning in the morning and going on all through the afternoon.

It would take place in batches and each person would have to wait their turn before being able to take theirs.

I felt uneasy to an extent, my henchmen had not contacted me since the day they left and I feared that my step mother could be plotting something once again.

I had to keep my eye on the lookout and stay on high alert, if I knew her well, she wouldn't stop till she got whatever she wanted.

I was kind of like that too anyway, I guess it was determination that my family members possessed, then again she wasn't a member of my family anyway, I could never see her that way.

Noelle had not contacted me since that day, no email, no call, no text, nothing.

I guessed that her parents had given her strict instructions to avoid me and had probably grounded her, or she just chose to avoid me entirely.

Either way it was what would be best for her and for her own safety, it was for her own good.

I wasn't too bothered about it and genuinely didn't care, but at the same time I just wanted to know she was safe.

If she'd gotten hurt in the whole process, I wouldn't forgive myself, it was my fight anyway.

"Let's just get this over with," I said to myself as I got out of bed.

I threw off my clothes and showered for a while before coming back out to my room.

I'd been to my apartment once since the incident and as I guessed it was being watched, I went in through a window, grabbed some clothes and left.

I'd made sure I wasn't being followed until I got back to the hotel.

So I didn't need room service for a change of clothes. I cleaned myself up and looking in the mirror I was impressed by my new physique and commended myself.

I threw on a hoodie and some jeans and left the room. I also wore a face mask to hide my face.

I avoided the receptionist on the way out and in a few more seconds, I was in a taxi heading to my examination center.

I arrived at the center pretty early, I wasn't going to be in the first batch of those writing the exam anyway so I just found a place to sit in the compound.

It was a high school, we would take turns carrying out our exams in the IT room of the school.

When it finally came to my turn, my number was called and I began to make my way to the IT room with others in my batch. We were being guided by an instructor from the school.

Before we got there, we were taken to an office to get registered and to be given our seat numbers, after which we would progress to our seat on our own.

I did mine pretty quickly and left the room. As I headed to the IT room, a girl who was approaching me slipped and almost bumped into me.

I was already on high alert because of my step mother and I could sense that she was coming.

With my heightened senses and increased speed I moved out of the way. Time seemed to slow down and I felt as if I was way faster then everything else.

I slowly watched her slip and before she could hit the ground I caught and lifted her back to her feet, which caused my hood to fall off.

She looked at me in shock and I turned and walked away, as I threw my hoodie back on.

"Who are you? What's your name?" She screamed as I'd already put distance between us and I simply ignored her. Hopefully I would not have to see her again.

I arrived at the IT room and quickly found my seat, there were already quite a few people seated and I kept my head down in order not to attract attention.

Suddenly, someone sat on the seat right next to me, and it turned out it was the girl from earlier.

'Unbelievable' I thought.

She gave me a nasty look as she sat down and I simply looked away, ignoring her and I could tell she was infuriated.

I couldn't wait to get this over with, I'd already attached the attention of this girl and she would be a tough leech to get off of me.

She looked at me once again and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. A couple more minutes had passed and the room was finally filled with students.

Everyone had finished their registrations and had arrived at their seats.

Then the invigilator walked in and spoke. "The exam will begin in a few moments, everyone remain seated on your seats and conduct yourselves properly. Also please ensure to not make noise and remain quiet, goodluck and have a wonderful exam." He simply said.

In a few moments I would be overcoming one of my biggest hurdles since my regression, my first big goal was about to be accomplished and I smiled to myself from under the face mask.
