The invigilator left and was back in a few more minutes, at exactly 10.50AM, he was back in the room with some sheets and passed them round the class. When he got to my desk he stared at me for a while and then spoke.
"I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask you to take off your hoodie and face mask, I need to have eyes on your face at all times." He said, politely, surprisingly.
I nodded and complied with what he said, my hair was scattered across my face as I removed my hoodie and I had to arrange it back in place.
The girl beside me stared at me with a look of recognition in her eyes and I simply ignored her, refusing to stare back. The invigilator finished passing the sheets and went back to the front of the class to instruct us.
"I believe everyone has a question paper and answer sheet in front of them, do not open them yet, more details will be given shortly and any complaints should be directed to me. Everyone get your writing materials ready, the exam will commence in five minutes." He said, the time being 10.55AM.
It was a written examination and it would span for two hours where we were expected to answer a total of two hundred questions. During the duration of the exam no student was allowed to enter or leave the examination hall.
An extra sheet was given to us in case we needed to write down some points or to perform calculations and by writing materials he meant pencils, erasers and so on.
I was fully ready for the exams and waited patiently like everyone else did. The five minutes to the exam felt like an eternity, and I was so happy when the invigilator walked back in exactly two minutes before the exam started.
He instructed us to fill out our details on the question paper and answer sheet with us. Our names, numbers, university of choice, proposed course of study and so on.
We did as we were told and I finished shortly. We waited till exactly eleven and then we started the exam. The invigilator set a timer on an alarm he brought with him.
I did a long stretch before beginning the exams and started.
As expected, the questions in the exam, I'd seen them before, every single thing. The ACT was challenging for me in my first life, so challenging that due to improper preparation and my terrible lifestyle, I failed. But now it was a piece of cake.
The English, mathematics, reading, scientific reasoning, I had their answers all memorized and was simply ticking them as they came to me.
Some of the questions were so easy for me that they were laughable, and I hated myself for failing such an easy exam in my first life.
It was going too well, I would basically read a question and before I was even halfway done through it, I'd recognize it and pick the answers and this was how I kept going on, and on, and on.
All the while I was writing the exams however, I felt uncomfortable, very uncomfortable.
The girl from earlier was seated next to me as I said, and she kept staring at me as I answered the questions. I didn't stare back but I could easily sense whenever she was watching and it pissed me off.
I finally looked back at her and saw her chewing her pencil and staring at the questions in confusion, clearly finding them challenging. She seemed to have a lot of trouble answering the questions.
'So she's not only annoying but is a blockhead as well, no way I'm speaking to her. I'm doing my utmost best to ignore her.' I thought to myself.
I went back to answering my questions and after about 30 minutes after the exam began, I had finished.
The girl and any other person who saw me do this stared at me in shock, but quickly went back to work focusing on their own questions.
I raised my hands beckoning for the invigilator and he got up from his seat and walked to me.
"Yes? What do you need?" He asked politely when he finally got to where I was seated.
"I'm done with my exams, I'd like to be on my way please." I said in the most polite way I could have. He stared at me in shock before finally responding to me.
"Unfortunately, I'm afraid you can't do that. No student is allowed to leave the IT room after the exams have commenced until the exams are over." He said, clearly still in shock.
"Alright then, thank you and sorry to bother you" I said.
"No problem, just doing my job," he said and went back to position himself at his desk at the front of the class.
'I'm going to be here doing nothing for the next hour and thirty minutes, this is the worst.' I thought.
It was an exam hall and as usual, the aura and demeanor of every student in the room was very depressing, and I wanted to leave as soon as possible.
I pulled my hood over my head and rested my head on the table as I entered a state of suspended animation, I was meditating.
I thought of a lot of stuff, about how in a few hours I would finally be able to leave the room, I thought about how easily I'd just overcome one of my most daring obstacles since my regression.
I felt a strong sense of accomplishment and I wanted to continue this successful run. First it would be education, next it would be my personal life and next it would be my business.
I couldn't wait to see what obstacles I'd have to overcome and how easily I would be able to plough through them once again. I just had to wait and see.
Before I knew it, the time was up and I was finally able to leave. The invigilator stood to address us and spoke.
"Everyone, I'm sure that as your time for the examination is up, leave the sheets on your desk and leave the room, I wish you the best of luck." He said.
I already did this and so I was the first to leave the hall, I looked around to see some people with sad depressed looks indicating that their exams didn't go as well, and I saw others with confident faces whose exams had probably gone well.
Either way I trashed the third sheet of paper and I left, putting my face mask and hood back on.
I got out of the IT room and walked toward the entrance attempting to exit the building. On my way I saw a vending machine and decided to get something for myself.
As I walked up to it and slipped a dollar into it, I selected what I wanted to drink, an ice coffee drink.
I sensed someone walking up to me from behind and thought it was just my imagination, but to my surprise I was right as I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I turned back to see who it was and it was the girl from earlier. She was of average height for a girl, but was still way shorter than me and was dressed oddly, like she hadn't been living here. She had long black hair and bright blue eyes and always seemed to exude a joyful aura, which pissed me off.
'Ugh, doesn't this girl know when to give up' I thought, I was annoyed by how much she was pestering me.
'Maybe if I just pay some attention to her, she'll go away, I'll just play along for a while.' I thought.
I turned to face her and spoke, "Can I help you?" I said in a low tone.
"Yes I'd like to speak to you please." She said, assertively. I could easily tell that she was the daughter of some rich man who always got whatever she wanted.
I heaved a large sigh before speaking and I said, "Fine then, let's speak." And I got my drink from the vending machine finally before giving her my attention.
