"And often you find yourself in situations where you wonder if this was all how it was meant to be? And you wonder if there was anything you could have done to prevent this."
…
"Lord Zardock."
And the melodious voice of a man that has touched the heavens resounded in his ears.
"Maverick," Zardock replied in a calm manner, opening his eyes to the man in front of him.
"They have found the first piece of the medallion," Maverick replied with a serious look on his face.
"I know," Zardock smiled as he slowly got up from the ground.
"It's time for him to repent for what he has done," he added as he passed Maverick while a relieved look appeared on his face.
As for Maverick, he didn't seem to be too happy about this.
"But is it really necessary to send him down there? To live with those lower mortals? I can't even imagine the filth they carry within themselves… my lord. There must be another way-" Maverick pleaded with his eyes turning solemn.
"Maverick," Zardock gave a deep look to Maverick, before he sighed and added,
"Even though I completely agree with you. This sin that he bears, he must pay for it. For the Elder Gods have already reached that decision a long time ago. There is nothing you and I can do about it."
The words were enough to make Maverick silent. He knew there was nothing they could do… but even so, he could not hide the pained look on his face.
"Come. Let's at least see his departure," Zardock gave a small smile to Maverick who returned a slow nod. And the duo walked towards the area where the departure was about to begin.
It was a pure white area as far as the eyes could see. And at the center, there was a small pond that seemingly contained the entire universe in it.
At this moment, all the Gods and Elder Gods were present around the pond, waiting for the soul of the sinner to be departed.
"Zardock," one of the Elder Gods called Zordak out, making him turn and slowly walk towards him.
"Amila," Zardock looked at the lady before turning to the pond,
"Has he departed yet?"
"You are just in time," Amila answered as she pointed at the pond, where a golden light was slowly descending deeper into the pond.
It was a warm light that seemed to brighten up all the areas where it went. The Spirits danced and the Angels sang, as they saw the light passing them by.
"Do you think he will be fine?" Zardock asked as he looked at the light getting dimmer as it reached away.
"…" Amila just turned to Zardock for a few moments before she asked…
"Did you seriously forget the reason why he was convicted?"
"…" And it was Zardock's turn to be dumbfounded.
"Just because he is your son doesn't mean you should forget what he has done… sigh… I am more worried about the mortal realm right now… " and Amelia had a tensed expression right now.
"…"
And remembering what his son had done… even Zardock started feeling pity for the mortal realm that he didn't think much about before.
"I guess… he will be fine," is all Zardock could mutter in the end.
