Chapter 325 - THE MAGES DESTROYED THE CHURCH

THE MAGES DESTROYED THE CHURCH

After some time, one of the assistants of the Mage came back to her bringing with him a lash- the Lash of Flagitious.

"This is the bloody evidence of their foolish schemes", Mage Narga told them.

"What does this weapon prove?" another asked as he checked the weapon with a magnifying glass.

"Hell, there is the magic of the monkey in some gem fragments on the lash. It's impossible to spot without our equipment", the assistant told the Mage.

"If I am not wrong, the fragments of gems on the lash are soul extraction gems of some kind. They took away the gems with the monkey's soul although they didn't expect traces of it would be left behind on the bloody lash", Mage Narga told them.

"What has happened? Will you please explain to us?" the mages asked Narga.

"These bloody monks wanted to take the monkey from us. When they failed, they asked for a public trial of the monkey. They broke the shields to our magic cage and killed the monkey before stealing the monkey's soul with the Soul Extraction Gem", Mage Narga explained to them her hypothesis of the schemes of the cardinals.

"The Church will bring the soul of the monkey back to Elis for further interrogation leaving us with a dead body", another mage added.

"Glorious Mage, how do you know these fools tried to trick us?" an assistant asked Narga.

"I was suspicious but couldn't be certain until I found the magic scent of the monkey inside this church. Then I realized we were tricked by the damn monks", Narga told them.

"Where is the monkey now?" another mage asked.

"The monks must have hidden the monkey's soul in a vessel somewhere. We have to search this entire church", Mage Narga told them.

Suddenly, several beings with magical wings arrived at the Church.

"Who dares to attack our Church", the winged guy asked angrily.

"Mage Narga, it is the apostles", an assistant told the mage.

"Who cares about these apostles, they are in league with those monks. If they stop us from finding the monkey, we will eliminate them", Mage Narga told her colleagues.

"Stop whatever you are doing to our Church, you thieves", an apostle shouted to Narga before firing a powerful beam that was conjured from his sword.

"Sword Beam of Justice"

But the sword beam was blocked completely by a shield conjuration from one of the mage's assistants.

"You creep steal from me and dares to attack me now?" Narga screamed at the apostles.

"What are we going to do now?" an assistant asked Mage Narga.

"We kill them all, apostles or what not", Mage Narga told her colleagues.

Soon, a major battle erupted between the apostles and the Mages of Prolis. The battle did not last long because soon all the apostles were defeated and killed by the mages' powerful spells.

Mage Narga's one 'SPELL' could destroy the entire church.

"We still couldn't find the vessel that contains the monkey's soul", an assistant informed Mage Narga.

"These creeps. I'll charge into Elis to get back our damn monkey", Mage Narga told her people.

[Back in Kaleon city]

"How did you make the Mages of Prolis destroy the Church of All-seeing?" Ratatouille asked me.

Suddenly, Hanuman appeared before us after hiding inside my soul realm for a long time.

I awakened the soul realm of Puppets. It created a magic realm in my soul that could harbor magic golems and puppets and also spirits and souls.

Although my soul realm was currently occupied by the Dark Angel's souls, it was still a soul realm that could accommodate souls.

"I don't understand. If you have a soul realm that souls can hide inside and become undetectable by the mages, why did you make me appear in the church? Don't you think it will be dangerous to reveal myself in the city. You could just bring me far away from here," Hanuman the Ayen God of monkey asked me curiously.

"If the mages could detect the scent of your soul, there is no escaping them wherever you go even if you go far away. They are the Mages of Prolis, they probably have the means to track you eventually", I told him.

"But you still haven't answered me about why you made me appear in the church", he asked again.

"We need to give the Mages of Prolis a resolution before they will stop looking for you. We need to give them a reason to stop looking for you or at least look somewhere else", I told him.

"What reason may that be?" Hanuman asked me.

That reason is you were taken by the apostles of the church", I replied to him.

"I don't quite understand too", Raven asked me.

"Well, I returned the Lash of Flagitious to the cardinals so the Mages of Prolis will find it there in the church together with some fragments of the Soul Extraction Gem on it. That is the smoking gun that they will find. That will prove the cardinals stole Hanuman's soul", I explained to them.

"The Lash of Flagitious and the gem fragments wouldn't be enough evidence. Besides, the Mages wouldn't storm into the Church in the first place without actual proof", Raven said.

"I will lead them. I sneaked into the church and asked Hanuman's soul to come out from my soul realm to expose himself, so that his scent could be tracked by the mages. Once the Mage of Prolis sniffs Hanuman's soul in the Church compound they would storm into the church and find the Lash of Flagitious, the smoking gun", I explained to them.

"Did you make the mages destroy the church?" Ratatouille asked me.

"Well, the mages will get the plot and hold the church accountable for kidnapping Hanuman's soul. The Mages of Prolis are not the patient and merciful lot. Destroying the church is a natural progression from the plot. The arrival of the apostles will further escalate this matter into a diplomatic incident between Prolis and Elis", I told them.

"So, the Mages of Prolis won't come looking for me now?" Hanuman asked me.

"Yes, they will continue to look for you, but they will probably look for you in Elis. Before they resolve their misunderstandings, hopefully you have gotten rid of the tracking magic on you", I told Hanuman.
