Gu Beixian spoke up.
He didn't even look at Gu Jinyao, his eyes half-lidded as he stared at the cigarette in his hand, nonchalantly saying, "Did you lay hands on Chu Suosuo's hands and face?"
The smile on Gu Jinyao's face froze, his fingers exerting force, crushing the cigarette between them.
His voice was extremely indifferent, "I don't understand what you're talking about."
Gu Beixian's gaze swept over the cigarette between his fingers, his eyes becoming more intriguing, and he lightly said, "Su Huai is my wife. Regardless of your surname, don't come to disturb her."
Gu Jinyao shrugged, his expression provocative, "What are you afraid of?"
Gu Beixian's eyes turned slightly cold as he stared at him, the pressure around him instantly becoming extremely low.
Gu Jinyao smirked at him.
That smile seemed to conceal a dagger.
Gu Beixian also smiled, flicking the cigarette into the ashtray without much ado, and said blandly, "Today, Su Huai invited me here voluntarily. You just witnessed how much she cares about me."
His tone was slightly solemn, a hint of a smile at the corner of his lips, but his emotions were difficult to discern.
Gu Jinyao paused, his smile fading.
"Take care of her." With these words, he pushed his chair back, stood up, and prepared to leave.
Gu Beixian's eyes turned cold, "You, an outsider, care so much about my wife. Don't you think it's inappropriate?"
Gu Jinyao paused for a moment, expressionless as he said, "A talent like her is rare in a hundred years. Everyone wants to protect her when they see her."
With that said, he tossed the broken cigarette into the trash can, lifted his foot, and walked out.
Watching his retreating figure, Gu Beixian's eyes became extremely dark, his fists slowly clenched.
The cigarette between his fingers was crushed.
The burning cigarette butt scorched his palm, but he didn't feel the pain.
Throwing away the cigarette, he took out his phone from his trouser pocket and called Su Huai, "Let's go."
"Okay, see you in the lobby on the first floor," Su Huai said gently.
Gu Beixian simply hmmed.
Su Huai hung up the phone, grabbed her bag, and walked out, coincidentally meeting Gu Jinyao.
She smiled slightly at him, "Thank you for your hospitality tonight."
Gu Jinyao's smile deepened, "You're welcome."
Su Huai politely said, "Goodbye."
Gu Jinyao lowered his eyes and looked at her, his gaze gentle as he softly said, "Goodbye."
Upon careful listening, one could hear the hidden reluctance beneath these ordinary words.
Unfortunately, Su Huai didn't listen carefully, her whole heart focused on Gu Beixian.
She hurried away like a gust of wind.
Gu Jinyao silently watched her figure recede.
That slender figure, getting farther and farther down the corridor.
Until it was completely out of sight, he slowly withdrew his gaze, his dark eyes even deeper, like a bottomless lake.
Su Huai arrived on the first floor and met Gu Beixian.
The two of them left the private kitchen restaurant.
As soon as they stepped out, Su Huai heaved a long sigh of relief.
That dinner was truly exhausting.
But if she didn't invite Gu Beixian over, and if he found out later, he would definitely be unhappy.
Their already precarious marriage needed to be carefully protected.
The two got into the car.
As the car door closed, Gu Beixian suddenly reached out, pulled Su Huai into his arms, and pinched her chin to kiss her.

"You promised me you wouldn't go see those people. That's why I agreed to let you come back to the country."
Gu Jinyao's expression remained indifferent, "I invited Su Huai to dinner, he came on his own."
"Su Huai is also from that family. Be careful with your actions." His mother hung up the phone.
